Fix paper clips together. How
many can you do? How long
can you make it?
Pop some bubble wrap. It’s great
for strengthening fingers.
Supervise your child washing up.
It’s a great activity for developing
fine and gross motor control.
Together make a sensory board with
things of different textures from around
your home. Encourage your child to
describe how it feels… soft, hard, fluffy
etc.
Place a piece of papercut to size and
shape in a tray, box or circular sweet
tin works well. Put a marbles into pots
of paint so that they are covered with
the paint. Use a spoon to take them
out and put in the tray, use 2 or 3
colours. Carefully tip the container so
the marbles roll about.

Using the pegs you numbered last week. Draw
some dots on a piece of card as they would
appear on a dice. Ask your child to count the
dots touching each one as they say the number,
then fix the peg in the correct place.
Collected lots of red
things from around
your house and put
them all together.
Get a grown up to make
5 houses from
cardboard boxes. It is
easier to draw on them if
you turn the box inside
out! Label the doors
from 1-5. Get 5 small
figures and give them
numbers 1-5 too. Mix up
the houses and figures,
then get your child to put
the houses in order and
find who lives in each
house.

Put a small amount of paint into a container and use
cotton buds as paint brushes. Ask a grown up to
write numbers 1-10 in pencil. Carefully trace over the
top with the paint.
Cut out ice cream cones,
cherries and scoops of
ice-cream from coloured
paper. Number the ice-
cream 1-5 on one side and
do the same amount of dots
on the other side so that
your child can count them if
needed. They can then put
their scoops of ice-cream in
order.

Listen to Mrs Oram
read a story. It will be
sent by email in 2 parts.
Can you think of
a different
perfect pet to
end the story
with? Don’t
forget to think
about what
makes a good
pet.
Listen to the story
again, can you
remember the actions
we did as we were
telling the story with
our story map?
Listen to the
story again.
Can you join
in with the
repeated
refrains?
So they sent
me….
I sent him
back.
It would be great
to get a video of
your child singing
a song!
Sing ‘5 little men in a flying
saucer. Don’t forget to start with
holding up 5 fingers, then put
another 1 down each time a man
flies away. Remember to show
zero at the end.
Sing ‘The alphabet song’.
Sing I’m a little teapot. Make the handle with
one arm and the spout with the other and
then tip over and pretend the tea is coming
out.
Sing ‘Mary had a little lamb’. Can you
make a noise like a sheep?
Sing ‘Jack and Jill’. Talk to your child about
what a pail is and why they are getting water
from a well and not a tap.
Nursery- Mark making activities 15th-19th June 2020
Try an activity every day and remember to send a pictures to
Ask a grown up to write your name
in big letters on a piece of paper
(remember to use lower case letters
not capitals except for the first
letter). Line up your favourite toys to
make each letter.
Use toilet rolls cut into patterns
or just as a circle to print with
paint in trays.
Cover a piece of cardboard with foil
and fix it with sellotape. Use Sharpies
to draw. Can you draw yourself? Can
you write your name too?
Put some glitter in a tray. Using your
pointy finger make marks. Can you do a
zig-zag or a wavy line? Maybe you could
do a face? Perhaps you could write your
name?
Have a go at painting with
your feet. Paint your feet
yourself or ask a grown
up….it tickles! Then make
foot prints on a piece of
paper, a roll of wallpaper
works well.
