Rules and Regulations 2012

1 OverviewThe Nurburgring 24hr Online Race by wurks.ca is a virtual GranTurismo5 race meant

to celebrate the real 24hours of Nurburgring. 15 teams, comprising 3 to 4 (or more)

members per team will battle it out during an awesome 24 hours of realtime onlineendurance racing in GT5. Not for the casual GT fan, race conditions will be as close

to the real thing as possible: Tire wear, fuel consumption, damage and weather will

put the drivers to the test. Teams will need to manage their strategy, pace,communications, sleep, nourishment and more.

2 Teams2.1 Team Size

Minimum team size: 2 drivers + 1 computer + 1 PS3 with GT5

Recommended team size: 3 drivers + 1 race manager + 1 computer + 1 PS3 with GT5Maximum number of drivers: 3

Auxiliary team members: Unlimited

2.2 RegistrationBefore registration, the following steps are required:

Form a team (see 2) Choose a location and setup the PS3 Setup computer to view the www.livestream.com website and watch a stream

during the following test.

In the PS3 menu, go to Settings Network Settings Test InternetConnection. Run the test and note the NAT type, Upload Speed and

Download Speed.

Note PSN(playstation network) account to be used. Create a Facebook Fanpage using your team name and select your team

members as admins to the page. (you dont have to create an account for the

fanpage, but each member of the team needs to have a facebook account)

Choose a vehicle to race.

3 Preparation3.1 Vehicle Preparation

Vehicle entries must be based on a production car. Open wheeled vehicles areNOT allowed. Race cars are allowed as long as they are recognizable vehicle

models.

All modifications are allowed, provided they do not conflict with the Weightminimum of 1100kg and HP maximum of 305hp. Choice of tires is open duringthe event.

3.2 Manager PreparationAll managers should be familiar with the chat window ofhttp://www.livestream.com/nurburgring24hronlineracebywurksca?t=556179

It will be the means of communication between team manager and with the organizing

comitee during the race. The managers will be able to watch a stream of the Watchrace

screen in GT5 in order to follow other competitors progress to determine strategy. A listof all teams and PSN account names will be posted in the Facebook group shortly after

close of registration.

4.2 Pre-Race Weather will be set by organizing committee to match as best possible real weather at

the Nurburgring based upon this data source: http://www.myweather2.com/Motor-Racing/Germany/Nurburgring-Circuit.aspx

NO chatting in the race room during racing will be permitted (verbally or text).During qualifying or racing, only the race organiser(s) (Olivier Allemand, Kurtis

Duddy) will be allowed to send text messages if required via the in-game chat using

the wurks_dot_ca username.

All teams must be in the race room 30 minutes before the obligatory drivers meeting.Late attendees will be refused the right to qualify.

Drivers meeting will review some of the rules found in this document and providetips and tricks for a smoother race. Any questions will be answered during this period.

Once qualifying begins (see schedule) all qualifying drivers (does not have to be thestarting driver) must enter the pre-race screen and press on the Drive button in order

to qualify. Qualifying window is 30 mins. This will allow for a warmup lap and 1 or 2

hot laps. Any driver who leaves the pre-race screen will lose their qualifying position.

Slightly before the race start time, Olivier Allemand will start the race countdown of30 seconds. Drivers in the pre-race screen or qualifying, will automatically be enteredinto the race at the end of the countdown in their respective qualifying positions.
