Science Labs
Seniors know theimportance of labsBy Michelle Lavelle
Labs are something you either love or hate, buttheir is no way of getting around them. Labs playa key role in any science class offered at MillardSouth. "In labs, you get more of a hands on feelof what the concept you are learning is about,"Senior Ashley Morrison said when asked aboutthe importance of labs. Science classes can be difficult for anyone, butthe labs can make them more fun and interactive."I don't have a favorite lab," Senior WenxianZhou said. "I like all of the labs I do." Morrison, however, states that the qualitative analysis labin chemistry was her favorite lab that she hasdone. While labs can be fun, they can be verychallenging in some cases. "Following the exactprocedure can be difficult sometimes," Zhou said."Trying to get the experiment to do exactly whatyou want it to do is the hardest thing about doinglabs," Morrison said. Both seniors plan on going farther in scienceafter high school. Zhou plans on attendingmedical school after college, while Morrisonplans on double majoring in chemistry andhistory. "I love both, so I want to learn the historyof science," Morrison said.
