RELIABILITY ENGINEERING PROGRAM

NTS offers a Reliability Engineering Program as part of its

Engineering Services which focuses on design for reliability,

“One Life” reliability and HALT testing, fault analysis,

identification and corrective action.

NTS has consulted clients in industries including aerospace,

military, medical device, consumer products, manufacturing,

oil production and others. No matter what step in the

lifecycle the product is in, NTS has a reliability solution to

improve product performance.

ONE-LIFE TESTING

One-Life testing relies on producing a use life profile. Once

the profile is identified (which includes thermal, dynamic,

vibration and other stress producing environments), our

reliability group will develop an “accelerated profile”.

This addresses all of the damage elements of “One-Life”,

while reducing the test time to substantially smaller

intervals and determine the Mean Time Between Failure

(MTBF) or Mean Time To Failure (MTTF).

HALT TESTING

The practice of accelerated aging or HALT testing

allows product designs and manufacturing technologies

to be validated for both robustness of design concurrent

with the integrity of the parts, circuits, boards, enclosures

and manufacturing.

HALT TESTING CONTINUED

Warranty durations can be determined through accelerated

life testing. NTS is also well versed in classical HALT

testing and has capabilities to develop classical HALT test

procedures. NTS has several HALT chambers throughout

the country.

FAULT ANALYSIS

Fault analysis and identification is completed using Fault

Tree methodology and root cause analysis with the

application of testing and proof of concept.

Corrective action recommendations can be made for

reliability improvement and additional testing can be

completed to ensure reliability issues have been mitigated.

RELIABILITY FORENSIC SERVICES

NTS has also been a valuable partner to its customers in

providing reliability forensic services in areas associated

with product liability science, and associated expert witness

requirements.

Our reliability engineering is a full product life cycle service,

spanning across designs in reliability assurance at the front

end of a product development

From a forensic determination of product flaws and their

corrective actions. NTS provides this level of competent

engineering coupled to a 50 year heritage of expert testing,

all in one package.
