Great athletic activity and muscular prowess was displayed bythe gentlemen (?) present in their haste to ‘lay -hold on one or more portions of that liquid! delight, Punch. One girl had her dress practically ruined and an unfortunate escort had a whole glass of the sweet nectar emptied over his protesting head. Elfbowing, shov- ing and general disorder prevailed. Gulch -conduct is entirely unbecoming to a school dance. Any overpowering ' —thirst or other‘ reason should? not cause the mad scramibl-e that took place. Some slight observance should be tak- en of the rules of ‘conduct and civility at such a school social function. Alf- ter all, our parents‘, teachers and friends who are present are apt to get a rather bad irnplression of those " who »contribute to sulch a disorder. Cast for ""Minuet”\ Chosen Last Friday the castof “The Minuet,” which is the Port Contest play to be given at Piawtmcket, Rhode Island, on -March 29th. The cast which only contains three people will consist of Mary Lou Halsey, Robert Read and Kenneth Fertig. “The lvDinuet,~” though very short, is a play of high dramatic appeal. It concerns the sad ending of two nobles, a man and his wife, during the Reign of Terror of the French Revolution. .:_j_°___.:_. "La Tertulia” Plans Play The Span-ish clulb, “La Tertulia,” is again coming to the fore, planning to present a play on the 28th of this ‘month. Mr. Lyons is writing the play, and as far as the reporter can find out. Eddie Goruld will be- the son- of the man whose wife knew a friend whose relative was the heroine. Fine worfk, Elddie. O Motion Picture Premiere Shown Last Friday morning a premiere showing of the high school pictures taken by Mr. Langdon was given in the auditoiium. These turned out to be very good. Anyone that had their picture taken need not worry about the length of their showing, for the film passes by very quickly. The pictures will be presented in assembly some time. in the near future. - T O T "The Torchbearers” Start Publicity The publicity and scenery making .for “The Tor-chbe-arers” has been start- ed. Soon the local papers will be ‘chanting eulogies of the (play and the New York papers will :be printing the actors’ photos in their Sunday edi- tions. Hurrah for us! The Cielerrity has made this an annual custom at the end of the basketball season. Katherine Burns and Doris Hiller are on the entertainment committee, and Inna Terrell and Evelyn Hot-opp are on the decoration conatrnittee. Francis Dell, president of the or- gxarnizati-on, will act as toastrnistress for the evening. 'Ilhere will be some T5 people invit- ed to the banquet, which promises to be one of. the “big nights” for the Celerity and guests. After two weeks of lengthy discussion due to difference of opinion, a decision concerning the contents ‘was agreed upon.
