FATHER PIGUET IN RESIDENCE;KNEW FATHER DOUGLAS WHEN •• ,
st. Alphonsus Parish now enjoys thepresence of a second priest, Father Leo Piguet, who is in residence here while he conducts a feasibility study of a new parish between Zionsville and Carmel.
Fr. Piguet, as most parishioners know, has celebrated many masses at St, Alphonsus this fall in addition tohis assigned task, which he describes as determining "whether, when, and where a parish should be establishedin southern Hamilton County,"
Most of Fr, Piguet•s priesthood FATHER PIGUET has been served at the collegiate min-istry level. The past two years were devoted to the presidency of the National Institute For Campus Ministries, an organization of Catholics, Protestants and Jews which promotes and supports improvement of ministries in higher education, Priorto that experience, Fr. Piguet spent 21 years with St. Thomas Aquinas Center at Purdue University.
He has served also as a country pastor and a military chaplain.
But, of great interest to St. Alphonsus parishioners isthat Fr. Piguet's first assignment as a priest was at St. Lawrence Church in Muncie, where he encountered a seventhgrade pupil named David Douglas.
The rest, of course, is history,1 I I I I I I 1 I
