Opening Hymn

First Reading Daniel 7:13-14

As the visions during the night continued, I saw one like a Son of man coming, on the clouds of heaven; when he reached the Ancient One and was presented before him, the one like a Son of man received dominion, glory, and king-ship; all peoples, nations, and languages serve him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that shall not be taken away, his kingship shall not be destroyed.

Responsorial Psalm Psalm 93:1, 1-2, 5

R. (1a) The Lord is king; he is robed in majesty.

Gospel John 18:33b-37 Pilate said to Jesus,

"Are you the King of the Jews?"

Jesus answered, "Do you say this on your own

or have others told you about me?"

Pilate answered, "I am not a Jew, am I?

Your own nation and the chief priests handed you over to me.

What have you done?"

Jesus answered, "My kingdom does not belong to this world.

If my kingdom did belong to this world,

my attendants would be fighting

to keep me from being handed over to the Jews.

But as it is, my kingdom is not here."

So Pilate said to him, "Then you are a king?"

Jesus answered, "You say I am a king.

For this I was born and for this I came into the world,

to testify to the truth.

Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice."

Offertory

Behold the Lamb

Martin Willett

1. Those who were in the dark are thankful for the sunlight; we who live, we who die are grateful for his gift, thankful for his love.

Refrain Behold, behold the Lamb of God. All who eat, all who drink shall live; and all, all who dwell in God shall come to know his glory.

2. Peaceful now, those whose hearts are blessed with understanding of the wheat, of the wine united with his word and the love we share.

3. Gentle one, Child of God, join with us at this table. Bless our lives; nourish all who hunger for this feast; shelter them with peace.

4. Lord of all, give us light. Deliver us from evil. Make us one; be our shield. Make still the winds that blow; cradle us with love.

Refrain text: Based on John 1:29. Text and music © 1984, OCP. All rights reserved.

To Jesus Christ, Our Sovereign King

1. To Jesus Christ, our sov'reign King, Who is the world's salvation, All praise and homage do we bring And thanks and adoration.

Christ Jesus, Victor! Christ Jesus, Ruler! Christ Jesus, Lord and Redeemer!

2. Your reign extend, O King benign, To ev'ry land and nation; For in your kingdom, Lord divine, Alone we find salvation.

3. To you, and to your Church, great King, We pledge our hearts’ oblation Until before your throne we sing In endless jubilation.

Second Reading Revelation 1:5-8

Jesus Christ is the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead and ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, who has made us into a kingdom, priests for his God and Father, to him be glory and power forever and ever. Amen. Behold, he is coming amid the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him. All the peoples of the earth will lament him. Yes. Amen.

"I am the Alpha and the Omega, " says the Lord God, "the one who is and who was and who is to come, the almighty."

Closing Hymn

The King of Glory

The King of glory comes, the nation rejoices. Open the gates before him, lift up your voices.

1. Who is the king of glory; how shall we call him? He is Emmanuel, the promised of ages.

2. In all of Galilee, in city or village, He goes among his people curing their illness.

3. Sing then of David’s Son, our Savior and brother; In all of Galilee was never another.

4. He gave his life for us, the pledge of salvation, He took upon himself the sins of the nation.

5. He conquered sin and death; he truly has risen. And he will share with us his heavenly vision.

2nd Communion Hymn, if needed

The King of Love My Shepherd Is

1. The King of love my shepherd is, Whose goodness fails me never; I nothing lack if I am his, And he is mine for ever.

2. Where streams of living water flow My ransomed soul he's leading, And, where the verdant pastures grow, With food celestial feeding.

3. Confused and foolish oft I strayed, But yet in love he sought me, And on his shoulder gently laid, And home, rejoicing, brought me.

4. In death's dark vale I fear no ill With you, dear Lord, beside me, Your rod and staff my comfort still, Your cross before to guide me.

5. You spread a table in my sight, Your saving grace bestowing; And, oh, what transport of delight From your pure chalice flowing!

6. And so, through all the length of days Your goodness fails me never; Good Shepherd, may I sing your praise Within your house for ever.

Text: Psalm 23; Henry W. Baker, 1821-1877, alt.

Communion Hymn

The King Shall Come When Morning Dawns

1. The King shall come when morning dawns And light triumphant breaks. When beauty gilds the eastern hills And life to joy awakes.

2. Not, as of old, a little child, To suffer and to die, But crowned with glory like the sun That lights the morning sky.

3. The King shall come when morning dawns And earth's dark night is past; O haste the rising of that morn Whose day shall ever last.

4. And let the endless bliss begin, By weary saints foretold, When right shall triumph over wrong, And truth shall be extolled.

5. The King shall come when morning dawns And light and beauty brings. Hail, Christ, the Lord! Your people pray: Come quickly, King of kings.

Text: John Brownlie, 1857-1925, alt.

Ladies - Only 5 tables left!

Our very popular 5th Annual Advent by Candlelight will be held on Sunday, November 28th, 2021 at 3:00pm in the hall at Sacred Heart. Advent by Candlelight is the opportunity for women of all ages to prepare more deeply for the coming of Christ at Christmas through prayer, fellowship, and of course, tasty treats. Enjoy dessert by candlelight as you listen to an Advent Reflection.

Want to reserve your spot? Become a hostess! An Advent by Candlelight hostess reserves a round table, invites 5-7 of her closest female friends (family members, friends, fellow parish-ioners or neighbors), bakes a treat for the dessert buffet and decorates her table (either casual or ornate will do!!). Her guests can help by baking a treat instead! Don’t want to be a hostess but would love to join us? Register as an individual and you'll have a spot at Katie's table. This event is free, but your RSVP is required. Register today by contacting Katie Shannon ([email protected] or 262-794-2570). Hurry! Space is limited and this event always fills up fast!

Entrada

Primera Lectura Dn 7, 13-14

has dicho. Soy rey.

© 1980, Arnulfo Carrillo. Published by OCP. All rights reserved.

Salmo Responsorial Salmo 92, 1ab. 1c-2. 5

R. El Señor reina, vestido de majestad.

Segunda Lectura Apoc 1, 5-8
