UNITED, THROUGH CHRIST, WE CAN DO ALL THINGS
Dear Parish Family, The Bible tells us repeatedly that we should seek the Spirit of Wisdom, or the Mind of Christ. How do we collectively inscribe the thoughts and desires of God on our hearts? Few things in this life shape us more than our education, and I don’t just mean college or high school academics. Education includes what we learn about our faith from our spiritual development. As members of the Church, we are called to do everything that we can to help educate our children and ourselves so that we grow to live out the virtues and fulfilled lives God has called us to. At St. Edward’s Catholic Church, educating parishioners of every age in body, mind, and soul is integral to the way we transmit the Catholic faith from generation to generation as well as receive the guidance of the Holy Spirit in our day to day lives. From the youngest members of our parish to our seniors who now welcome grandchildren at St. Edward’s, we are all called to learn, profess, and share our faith in Jesus Christ. Each week, more than 580 adults and children participate in faith formation and other community fellowship events to grow more in their knowledge of our Lord and Savior.
• Approximately 300 children participate in weekly faith formation activities • Approximately 100 teenagers participate in Youth Group each week • Approximately 100 adults participate in spiritual life events each week
Building our Future is not just about building shiny new buildings. It is about building our inner selves – our spiritual lives. The projects in the campaign create a setting for us to improve the education of each and every one of us in following Christ and reaping the Fruits of the Spirit. Throughout the campaign, you are being asked to pray about making a sacrificial gift to this effort. Whatever you can contribute is appreciated. Every little bit helps. Commitment Weekend is December 1st – 2nd. Please mark your calendars and come to Mass that weekend ready to take a step in faith with the 150 families that have joined us thus far. UNIDOS, POR CRISTO, PODEmOS HACER TODOS Querida Familia de San Eduardo, La Biblia repetidamente nos dice que debemos buscar el Espíritu de Sabiduría, o el Mente de Cristo. ¿Como podemos escribir los pensamientos y deseos de Cristo en nuestros corazones? Pocas cosas nos forman a nosotros como la educación. No solamente hablo acerca de académicas o escuela secundaria o colegio. La educación incluye lo que aprendimos de nuestra formación de fe y crecimiento espiritual. Como miembros de la Iglesia, nos pide que hagamos todo lo que podamos para educarnos nosotros y también a nuestros niños para que crezcan en la virtud y la vida Dios nos está llamando. Para la Iglesia Católica de San Eduardo es muy importante que educemos cada persona (niños tanto como adultos) en cuerpo, alma y mente para que compartan nuestro fe Católica desde generación a generación para que tengamos la guía del Espíritu Santo en nuestra vida cotidiana. Desde los niños a los ancianos quien den la bienvenida a nietos a la Iglesia Católica de San Eduardo, Dios nos llama a aprender, practicar y compartir nuestra fe en Jesucristo. Cada semana, más que 580 adultos y niños asisten la formación de fe y otros eventos de compañerismo para crecer en su sabiduría espiritual y conocimiento de nuestro Señor.
