In 2014, we plan to open a large, permanent storefront pantry in Delaware.
The focus will be on healthier food choices, especially fresh produce.
The storefront location will serve as a “food hub” - making fresh produce and other products available to other emergency food providers.
The storefront location will serve as a platform for the Ohio Benefit Bank and other services, including nutrition, cooking and financial literacy classes.

Once fully operational, the storefront and mobile pantry distributions will serve approximately 1,000 families per month, almost doubling the number of current distributions reported to Mid-Ohio Foodbank.
All distributions will utilized the Choice Model: Promotes dignity and self-esteem. Reduces food waste. Ensures balanced nutrition.

WHAT IS LSS DOING IN DELAWARE COUNTY?
The issue of hunger in our community is too big for any one agency to tackle alone.
Rural areas of the county are underserved.
Evening and weekend availability is limited.
As a system, we need to move more fresh produce to positively impact the health of our community.
