At the press conference, Ms. Leila el Solh previous peace Lebanese lady of the year 2012 and myself nominate Mr. Maxime Chaya as the Lebanese peace man of the year 2013.

During the award ceremony of all artists Ms. Mona HARAOUI visited all artists stands and took picture with almost each one of them, then she distribute all awards, gifts and certificate to the 45 artists.

I would like to thank all partners for their support for this Noble and prestigious Lebanese and international event.

Lebanese Peace Lady for 2014

Back to OutlineMay El Khalil is the award-winning Founder, General Manager, and President of the Beirut Marathon Association. Mrs. El Khalil founded the marathon to help mend divisions in Lebanon; she wanted to shift the focus from that which divides the Lebanese people, and bring them together to celebrate that which they have in common.

Mrs. El Khalil has received the AIPS Power of Sport Award in Lausanne, and the Laureus World Sports Academy Lifetime achievement award. She has been decorated by Lebanese President Michel Suleiman with the National Order of the Cedar, and has been granted appreciation awards from the Lebanese Ministry of Tourism, The Brazil-Lebanon Chamber of Commerce, and the Lebanese Ministry of Youth and Sport. In 2013 she was presented with an honorary Ph.D. from LAU (the Lebanese American University), and she also spoke at the TED global conference in Edinburgh Scotland with a talk entitled Peace Making is not a Sprint; it is more of a Marathon.22
