INSTRUCTIONS: Preparation: Seal plaque and let dry. Sand lightly using a piece of brown paper bag and wipe clean. Refer to photo and pattern throughout for painting. Transfer pattern and detail lines as needed. Let dry between coats and steps. Some colors will require more than one coat to cover. Use the brush size you are most comfortable with for all areas.

PAINTING INSTRUCTIONS:Basecoat as follows:

Light purple background areas: Purple Cow

Pumpkin: Canyon Orange

Pumpkin Stem: Dark Chocolate

Green area under pumpkin: Irish Moss

Star and Moon: Marigold

Candy corn: Snow White; Canyon Orange; Sunny Day

Checked border areas: Canyon Orange.

PUMPKINUsing Georgia Clay, shade in the lines dividing the pumpkin into segments and shade the outside edges of the outer segments. Using Bright Orange, highlight the outside edges of the center section and dry brush highlights in the center of the outer two segments. Using Lamp Black, shade the stem closest to the top of the pumpkin. Transfer pattern lines for pumpkin fa-cial features and the leaves. Basecoat leaves with Irish Moss. Using Black Forest Green, shade the leaves as shown; shade around the bottom edge of the green area closest to the orange ‘check’ section, shade the green area under the bottom of the pumpkin; shade in the leaf vein lines; and apply the curly que lines for the leaves. Using Citron Green, highlight the leaves as shown. Using Georgia Clay, shade in the line form-ing the nose and shade in the ‘mouth’. Using Lamp Black, apply the mouth line, chin line, eyebrows and eyes. Using Snow White, highlight the top of the nose; place tiny ‘dots’ in the eyes and apply the tiny highlight marks in the eyes. Use Country Red (or red cheek chalk) and a Q-tip to apply the cheeks.

MOONShade the left side with Honey Brown. Lightly high-light the right side with Sunny Day.

STARShade the left side with Honey Brown. Lightly high-light the right side with Sunny Day. Apply the hash tag highlight mark with Honey brown.

CANDY CORNApply the highlight mark with Snow White.

CHECKED BORDERSI did the check borders ‘freehand’, therefore, the checks are not all perfect! For me, I used a #10 shader for the checks around the rectangular border area and a #12 shader for the checks in the ‘round’ border area. I started in one spot and continued around each orange area. Shade the outside edges of each of the orange sections with Georgia Clay.

BACKGROUND AND STENCILINGReferring to the photo, using the Mini Halloween word stencil and Lamp Black, randomly stencil on the back-ground words until you are happy with the look. Using

Grape Juice, shade all around the outside edges of the purple sections. Additionally, lightly shade around the moon, candy corn piece, star, quickly around the pumpkin and lightly around a couple of the leaves. Ap-ply the ‘holes’ for hanging the star and candy corn by ‘dotting’ with Grape Juice. Using Lamp Black, apply the strings and the two other background ‘star’ embellish-ments, then ‘dot’ these stars as shown.

FINISHINGLet dry completely. Make sure all pattern lines are erased. Apply several light coats of Matte Varnish. Let dry. Hang with your choice of ribbon/wire/raffi a. Enjoy!
