There are a few things that every home must have when

decorating for fall. Nothing speaks the language of fall more

than Hall China in the Autumn Leaf pattern, originally

produced as the Jewel Tea pattern in 1936.

Anything copper is another must! This gorgeous metal will

improve any fall dcor theme. The reflective nature of

copper enhances all of the colors of fall.

Wooden bowls and vessels will always give a natural beauty

to your home and will provide a beautiful backdrop to any

    mantle display.

Vintage linens with handiwork in browns, oranges, yellows

and black will enhance any tablescape. Napkins, table

runners, placemats and tablecloths offer the finishing touch

    to your dining experience.

Pumpkins, gourds, Indian corn and acorns arent necessarilyvintage fare, but theyre all a necessity for a true autumn

display. Let Mother Nature assist you.

Dont forget the scents of the season. Amber, vanilla,

cinnamon, pumpkin and anise all remind us that the holiday

season is just around the corner.

Be sure to stop by Norwood and Nostalgia soon to seewhatwe have in stock for your fall decorating adventure.

This month Ive decided to switch it up a bit. Here

are some of my favorite tips for storing falldecorations.

Most dcor can be stored in plastic containers.

The key is determining whether they can be

stored long term in the basement, garage or attic.

Any decoration that contains wax needs to be

stored in a cooler place such as the basement.

If its possible, keep the decorations original

packaging, especially for fragile items! Thepackaging is made specifically to protect the piece

    in question.

Any electrical decoration should have thebatteries removed before storing. This will

    prevent potential battery corrosion.

Finally, if you have any outdoor dcor, be surethat it is dry before you store it away for the year.

    Cheers for now!

We all know a collector ofman-thingsyou knowthe

one who knows every single detail of the Stanley Plane

line or how many different saws Henry Disston produce

And, he might be an aficionado of all forms of petroliana

    advertising.

Perhaps he can recite how the Marx Toy Company chose

their line of toys for each holiday season or if a marble

identifies as either an Akro Agate or a Peltier. Their lev

of knowledge amazes even the most well versed collecto

    of mantiques.

At Nostalgia in Parkersburg, our front window is

decorated with a mans man in mind. We chose tools,

signs, oil cans, vintage equipment and much more to

    entice the avid collector.

We hope you stop by soon to take a closer look.
