Family News
Last year we reached 250 students and their families in
our community. This year our goal is to reach over 300.
Visitors will be offered a hot dog lunch and opportunity to
sign up for tutoring. The bloodmo-
bile will also be here. There is still
time to help. Below is a list of what
we need. If you would rather donate money, checks
can be made out to the church with the school drive
written in the memo section.
*Backpacks *Folders *Spiral notebooks or notebook paper
*Glue sticks *#2 Pencils *1” Binders
*Big pink erasers *Pencil boxes *Hillsborough County school uniforms
We are asking that ONLY THESE ITEMS be donated.
Pick up some of the flyers from the table in the lobby and pass them out at
local schools and businesses. We have a letter to give to businesses when
you ask for donations. We will advertise their donation on the day of the
school store. Please give your supplies, gift cards and checks to Dodi Cline or
Cathy Baldock.

Blood Donations Needed
The American Red Cross reports the worst blood shortage in 15 years.
The Intense summer weather which created power outages cancelled scheduled
blood drives and the extreme heat prevented frequent donors from giving blood.
All types are urgently needed, but especially
A-negative, B-negative, O-positive and O-negative.
This Saturday, while our School Supplies Hand Out is going on, you can donate
blood here at the church building from 10:00AM to 2:00PM. Just go by the main
bulletin board and pick a time to donate that’s convenient for you.
We have open slots from 10:15 to 1:45.
VBS 2012 Jacob Robertson set the stage with his sermon Sunday morning entitled
“Seeing God Everywhere”.
High up in the atmosphere were 15 foot rockets along with a Space Shuttle
flying out of the baptistery and over the stage.
This year’s Vacation Bible School has come and gone and the Adventures in
Universe City were amazing. We were Seeking God Everywhere in the
world, galaxy, universe, and beyond! The enthusiasm of the kids along with
their anticipation and excitement was a site to behold.
All the Middle & High School helpers, working as Cadets, did an awesome
job taking such good care of the little ones. Dozens of adults worked behind
the scenes and in the classrooms, presenting lessons and teaching with
crafts.
Mike O’Neal presented exciting messages all four nights to the adults, from
his book An Angel’s View.
Thanks to everyone who helped make VBS 2012 a success. In addition to
serving our own children, we reached out to many of your friends and
neighbors and to some children from our church neighborhood.

Keith’s Kitchen…
Keith’s Kitchen is an op-
portunity to support our
work in Honduras. Each
Wednesday at 6:15PM
Keith prepares a deli-
cious meal. The teens help with the
dessert, drinks and clean-up. All
proceeds go to the accounts of stu-
dents who help. There is no set fee
but your generous checks should be
made to Tampa Youth Missions.
Meals resume this Wednesday, Au-
gust 8. If you or your child plans to
go on next years trip, we need
someone from each family to sign
up to bring dessert. A calendar sign-
up sheet is on the bulletin board so
please pick your weeks. Dessert this
week: Berry, Cubero, Jarmon.
Bridal Shower…
There will be a dessert
Bridal Shower for Liann
Swann TODAY at 1:00PM
at the Retreat House.
Liann is to be married to Samual
Sproat in September.
Sew & Sews Planning Meeting…
There will be a Planning Meeting for
the Sew & Sews this Friday, August
10 at the Retreat House at 10:00AM.
Our regular monthly work sessions
will be held on the 2nd Friday of
each month beginning September
14 at 10:00AM.
Reminder…
We are still in need of new member
pictures for our church website and
our picture board. It really helps our
new members learn who you are
and the more recent the picture, the
better. After class today—Room #3
It’s painless and quick!
