Electricity Reform Act NOTICE OF VARIATION OF ELECTRICITY PRICING

ORDER FOR PRESCRIBED CUSTOMERS I, DELIA PHOEBE LAWRIE, Treasurer, under section 44(8) of the Electricity Reform Act and with reference to section 43 of the Interpretation Act, give notice that:

(a) a variation of the electricity pricing order regulating prices for the sale of electricity to Prescribed Customers made on 25 June 2009 and notified in Gazette No. S32 of 30 June 2009 has been made; and

(b) the variation will have the effect of increasing the prices that may be charged for the sale of electricity for the period 1 July 2012 to 30 June 2013 to take account of the introduction of a carbon price; and

(c) copies of the varied electricity pricing order may be inspected at or obtained from any office of the Power and Water Corporation.

SCHEDULE

(1) Clause 3(2)(d) omit, insert (d) for non-metered installation customers:

(i) for the periods 1 July 2009 to 30 June 2010,1 July 2010 to 30 June 2011 and 1 July 2011 to 30 June 2012 - charges per type of installation that do not exceed the amounts detailed in Tables 5 and 6; and

(ii) for the period 1 July 2012 to 30 June 2013 - charges per type of installation that do not exceed the amounts detailed in Tables 7 and 8 (which amounts include an additional charge resulting from the introduction of a carbon price).

(2) Clause 3(3) omit all words after "formula:" insert pt = pt-1(1 + CPIt) + AC where: pt is the price to be charged for the relevant service in the period. pt-1 is the price paid for the relevant service in the previous period. CPIt is: (a) the consumer price index (CPI) factor used in the

Northern Territory Government Budget for the period identified; or

(b) if a CPI factor is not used in the Budget - an index determined by the Treasurer that is the best estimate of CPI.

AC (additional charge) is:

(a) for the period 1 July 2011 to 30 June 2012 - nil; and

(b) for the period 1 July 2012 to 30 June 2013:

(i) if a usage charge applies to the relevant service - an amount equal to 1.45 cents per kWh of usage of the relevant service (being an additional charge resulting from the introduction of a carbon price); or

(ii) otherwise - nil.
