NORTH ALABAMA FCA

CAMPUS MINISTRY

We finished the sum-mer Strong, and God’s definitely working in our area!! Our 2nd Annual FCA 7on7 Football Tour-nament was very success-ful this year! God more than doubled the number of teams from our previ-ous year bringing 29 teams from 19 schools across North Alabama came to Decatur’s Jack Allen Soccer Complex to

compete in July. There were al- most 800 players and coach- es attend-

ing this event for FCA staff and volunteers to share the love of Jesus Christ with by serving them and praying for them. Former Auburn football player, Nate Farrow, shared his testimony of playing at Auburn, and his brother, Caleb Farrow-Youth Pastor at First Bap-tist Church, Decatur, shared the Gospel mes-sage which resulted in 35 players raising their hands signifying they trusted in Jesus Christ to be their Savior on the football field that day. We could not have done this event without the 30 volunteers that came out to help us. A huge shout out goes to Decatur Parks and Rec staff, our sponsors, stu-dent pastors, board mem-bers, students, and adults that made this event the success that it was.

Camp. He did an amazing job!

August in Florence means one great thing: UNA is back in session! The fall se-mester has started with a bang, and God is on the move! Coming off our two Night of Champions events where we saw so many salvations, and our athletes are starting the Division 1 transition successfully, on the field as well as off of it. We are preparing to launch a Huddle on campus as well as a couple Bible studies for student athletes. These Bible studies have come at the request of student ath-letes and will be led by them as well! How cool is that? UNA athletes also had the opportunity to serve at two welcome back events for in-coming freshmen. Some of our leaders and myself helped with "Unpack The Pride" which is UNA's move in day, and "The Big

Deal" where we walked around and promoted the new launch of FCA on campus! The Lord is faithful and we are seeing that in our coaches at UNA! We have many coaches involved in our Bible study, but more importantly, we are on campus with them every day. On top of all this, we have two coaches that sought out and are participating in one-on-one weekly discipleship! The Spirit is stirring in the hearts of these coaches and it is incredible to watch the Lord work! Thank you for sowing into this ministry and the Great Commission! Continue to pray for UNA and that we would be faithful

to reap the harvest! If you would like to invest in the UNA Campus Minis-try, call Matt-334.685.2963, or visit nwalfca.org/donate/Matt Daniels. Thanks,

Matt Daniels

All the coaches were very impressed with the tourna-ment and had nothing but good things to say about how we conducted the event. The presence of God was

so overwhelming as I looked over the complex and hum-bly wept at God’s blessing of all the people He brought to the tournament that day to hear the hope of eternal life in Jesus Christ!!

Thank you all for your prayers and partnership as we reach coaches and ath-letes with the Gospel!! In Christ, David Mote

Camp. He did an amazing job!

The school year has begun and the Lord is blessing us with more opportunities to speak into the lives of our young people and the coaches and teachers that lead them.

I started this school year with a focus on our coaches wives and female ath-

letes, and began a weekly blog for coaches wives. I have already had the oppor-tunity to be on 21 school campuses sharing popsi-cles and devotions with our volleyball, basketball, and cheer teams. During one of our recent campus Huddles, I was re-minded that what we do through this ministry is so important as I heard a table of students respond to a question asked them about goals and plans for their life. So many students didn’t even believe there was a point in making plans because they were stuck where they were. Our campus ministries, pop-sicle blasts, and events allow us the opportunity to speak into the lives of these students and let them know God has a future and hope for them

(Jeremiah 29:11), and their mind cannot even conceive the plans that the Lord has for them (1 Corinthians 2:9) if they will just trust Him. We are also excited about our upcoming Aspire More event with former LSU Soccer Champion, Mo Isom. We can’t wait to see how the Lord is going to move in this all-female athletes event. Thank you for partnering with us in order to make it possible for the Word of God to be poured into the hearts of our coaches wives as well as our stu-dents, athletes, and coach-es. Serving Him, Nicole Vaughn

Scott Tarver shared the 2017-18 North/Northwest AL FCA Ministry Im-pact Report, and gave an update on the STEER Program. The STEER program has doubled over the past three years thanks to the efforts of Brian Legg and Roger Morris. Scott told the partners, “We

want to say ’thank you!’ for being a part of the pro-gram and helping

us impact our coaches and athletes. We appreciate you and your partner-ship! You’re fingerprint is on the lives we touch because of your partner-ship.” During the last school year, STEER partners contributed more than $10,000 to N/NWAL FCA through calf sales. We now have 26 farmers with 29 cows in the program. Our goal is to have 150 cows in both areas.
