Attendance Items
• Students are allowed 4 excused absences with
parent notes per semester (8 for the year).
• Any absences beyond these must be
accompanied by a doctor‟s excuse.
• Excessive unexcused absences will be
dealt with as follows:
• 5 days – First Letter, Second Letter,
Summons to Campus Court

Tardies
Students are considered tardy if they have not arrived at their class
by the bell to start school (7:45).
Check-outs that are not accompanied by a doctor‟s note are
counted as unexcused „leave‟.
These two items are totaled and will be addressed in the following
ways:
•5 unexcused tardies or leaves – Letter from the school
•8 unexcused tardies or leaves – 2nd Letter from the school
•12 unexcused tardies or leaves – Summons to campus court
Discipline
Classroom Discipline Policies will be observed
If a child is referred to the office, the following will
be observed by administration:1.) Student conference
2.) Parent contacted
3.) Parent and student speak
4.) Parent chooses one of the following:
• 2 day work detail (to be done during recess)
• 1 week of „Silent Lunch‟
• 1 hour of Saturday Work Detail (9:00 – 10:00)
• 2 swats of corporal punishment (administered
under parent‟s supervision)

Upon second referral, all consequence items
double.
Upon third referral, the child will be suspended.
The following items warrant an immediate referral
to the office:
Fighting – physical exchange with the intent to harm.
Documented Bullying – continued verbal or physical
abuse after 1st intervention.
Disrespect to Teacher/ Staff Member –verbal or physical

Health – School & Home
Please help to ensure the health and safety of all children in
our community by reinforcing the hygiene items we teach
the students and by keeping your child at home if they have
communicable diseases.
If a communicable disease is identified in a class, parents of
other students will be notified in order to help mitigate the
spread of that disease.
If your child becomes sick at school, you will be notified by
Mrs. Nunnelly or Mrs. Goff to come and collect him/her.
This will be considered a „Nurse‟ check-out and is an
excused leave.
Visitors
All visitors are asked to sign-in at the front office.
Lunch for Fifth Grade begins at 12:10.
5th Grade Students may be eligible to participate in
the following:
•National Membership dues are $15.00 and will be collected
•Acceptance Criteria (initial) will be „Advanced‟ in RLA and Math on the 4th
Grade TCAP or teacher recommendation with A/B average.
•Invitations will be sent to these students in on August 19th
•Induction Ceremony – September 8, 2011
•Beta Club Junior Conference is scheduled for Nov. 21 – 22 @ the Gaylord
Opryland Hotel in Nashville.
•Beta Club Members will begin special projects in the near future as well.
4. Safety Patrol / Car Callers
•Total cost for the trip = $450.00
•Includes all meals, lodging, travel, and attraction costs
•Includes specialty shirts that will be printed for each day
•Payment schedule
•Nov. 1- $100.00 (Commitment amount)
•Feb. 1- $175.00
•Mar. 1 - $175.00
Fundraising…
The school undertakes two “Active” fundraisers a
year. (Ones which involve solicitation)
Power Value Cards – Various vendors offer discounts
for the card, cards cost $10.00/each, prizes awarded
for various levels of cards sold.
Spring Sale– Orders taken in advance, cost of items
will vary, items delivered on one day, prizes awarded
for various levels of money raised.
The school also has several “Passive” fundraising
items (PTO, School Pictures, Vending, etc.)
Fundraising…
•$60.00 / child for the year (-$20 for each additional child)
•The child will automatically be placed at the 1st prize level of
awards.
•The child may move up levels by selling products as well.
