be an opportunity to identify and explore the unique challen-

ges and opportunities and derive implications for successful

establishment of entrepreneurship at technical universities,

e.g. which special instruments to foster entrepreneurship can

be used and are especially successful at technical universities.

As desired outcomes of the conference should be mentioned:

• A wider knowledge among NORDTEK member institutions

about good practice, instruments and resources in this

field

• A stronger network between researchers and practitioners

within entrepreneurship and innovation

• More collaboration between NORDTEK members on the to-

pics, and potentially the start of more research, education

and development projects

• A working group presenting key findings at the NORDTEK

annual meeting in Iceland 2015.

In educating the engineers of tomorrow, an issue often discus-

sed is building entrepreneurial capacity among students and

faculty. How do we work with educational programs and insti-

tutional policy in securing that our future graduates are en-

trepreneurial and have leadership skills that will help them in

addressing the challenges of our time, develop new solutions

and finding sustainable business models?

To further strengthen this discussion, the president of NORD-

TEK, dean Eskild Holm Nielsen, has therefore undertaken the

task of putting together a conference with the goal of presen-

ting good and best praxis on the topics of entrepreneurship

education and extra-curricular activities amongst NORDTEK-

member institutions.

The objective of the conference is to display and explore good

practice in entrepreneurship education, research and practice

being performed by member universities in the Nordic coun-

tries, with the intention of supporting entrepreneurial develop-

ment through different types of collaboration. With the com-

mon challenge of implementing a focus on entrepreneurship

and innovation at technical universities, the conference will
