The Philippine Sea Plate moves westward, large earthquakes located over qSouthern Philippines and in the Straits of Macassar, Sulu Sea and Celebes Sea occasionally felt in Sabah.

Several micro faults in Sabah and Sarawak could be generated by the movement of the Philippine S Pl t L l th k Sea Plate. Local earthquakes in Sabah and Sarawak appear to be related to these micro faultsmicro faults.
