The 5-day Non-Permissive Environment

(NPE) - Medic Course has been developed

to assist soldiers, police and independent

contractors that will be deploying to high-

risk areas.

It is a comprehensive program that

incorporates extensive didactic material

that is emphasized through practical

scenario application.

In this 40-hour course, students are

introduced to the most up-to-date critical

life-support interventions. The primary

focus will be on the management of

traumatic injuries that a casualty may

suffer in a hostile environment. Further,

medical emergencies and team medical

considerations are evaluated.

NPE course key learning outcomes

On completing the course students will be able to:

• Carry out Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC)

• Care for a casualty under fire

• Conduct critical field interventions

• Conduct in-depth field medical assessments

• Conduct needle decompressions

• Treat a casualty for various serious injuries

• Stabilise a casualties condition using the appropriate treatment

• Conduct field evacuations
