Non-Ofcer CRA Related Award Congratulations to Craig Scheler! 2018 Community Service Volunteer Craig Scheler, CRA Assistant, was selected as a 2018 Community Service Volunteer to recognize his work with the East Texas Human Needs Network. Scheler sits on the Housing Council for Cherokee County and assists the organization with all local events. Te East Texas Human Needs Network (ETHNN) is a collaborative efort of individuals and organizations working together for strengthened programs, connections, and improved awareness of services that meet essential human needs. ETHNN is a backbone organization working to reduce poverty through initiatives in education, employment, healthcare, housing and transportation. Teir belief is that no single organization can create large-scale, lasting social change alone. Instead, working together toward shared goals they can create a coordinated plan of action and use data to continuously progress toward those goals. Trough this they can solve the complex challenges that impact our community. As a member of the Housing Council, Scheler works to fnd a resolution for afordable housing in Cherokee County. In addition, he assists in educating social workers, nursing students and others in the community about poverty and its hardships. Sharing the knowledge obtained through his duties in the Bank’s CRA department, Scheler also passes on information about the AB Community loans and how they can be of help. Scheler has been a member of the Austin Bank family since 2012, having worked as a Teller, Loan Documentation Specialist and Loan Assistant before moving to his current role in 2016. Craig works with ETHNN in Smith and Cherokee Counties on multiple projects, especially the poverty simulations. Congratulations to Craig Scheler!

2018 Community Service Volunteer
