The 17th Nordic Research

Conference on Safety

NoFS

Programme

13 – 15 June 2007 Tampere, Finland

WELCOME TO NOFS 2007

On behalf of the Organizing Committee I have the great pleasure to welcome you to the 17th NoFS Conference. The NoFS Conference rotates among the Nordic countries, and this year Finland has the honour to host the meeting in the beautiful lake scene surroundings of Tampere.

NoFS (‘Nordisk Forskningsnetværk for Sikkerhed’, Nordic Research Network on Safety) has become a tradition among safety researchers in the Nordic countries for exchanging new results and plans for future work. This year the theme of the conference is “Enabling safety - towards new paradigms”. The goal of the meeting is to introduce new ideas concerning safety promotion. The inspiration for this theme was a book entitled “Resilience engineering” by Erik Hollnagel. We hope that the theme facilitates lively discussions and raises new questions and ideas.

We wish to thank our sponsor, The Finnish Work Environment Fund, for supporting the Conference. We also wish to thank TAVI Congress Bureau for their great job for all the practical arrangements. We further wish to thank the members of both the Finnish and Nordic organizing committees for all the efforts they have put for organising this Conference.

We wish you enjoy the conference and we hope that the surroundings of Murikka-Institute offer you also a possibility for refreshing.
