New Works Festival 2016 Lighting Designer

There are no production photos taken from this production. New Works was a compilation of 18 short plays and 5dances divided up into 4 slates. It is completely student driven. I was the Lighting Designer and had to sit and read 18 scripts, watch 18 rehearsals numerous times, work with 18 different directors, and 5 choreographers and design each show very specifically. I had to design in a very small space with very little time. This was my first time being completely alone with designing. I got plenty of compliments from our designers and directors as well as the students. This was a huge opportunity for me and I thank everyone who helped me with it.

The design for Mary Stuart was that the floor was a checkerboard and we had to design it so the audience could clearly tell that there were two sides. This was done in arena style seating

and was very difficult to help design.

Dance Concert 2015 Master Electrician

Light Board OperatorDesigner: Jen Groseth

This was my first time being Master Electrician. My main duties were splitting up crews to tackle the main tasks we had set for the day. I had to manage people as well as teach and help my fellow electricians. This job was very important because you have to know your electrics to

help others but you also have to be a leader. I worked closely with the Lighting Designer to get the job done. I was also Light Board Operator

for this show.

Shrek: The Musical Electrician

Lead Followspot OperatorDesigner: Jen Groseth

This was my second time being a Lead Followspot Operator. I had to manage a crew of 5 new followspots. We all had different type of rigs for our spots. We had 3

followspots on a gyro c-clamp in the catwalks, and 2 followspots on a PVC pipe swivel in our booths. The three catwalk spots were 10 degree ETC Source 4 and the two booth followspots were 5 degree ETC Source 4. Teaching each person how to use their light was difficult but after a couple rehearsals we were able to pull off our

biggest show yet.
