Thereshould be, not only by the circulation of titles,texts and writings, but also by the obvioushistorical, cultural and human from Panama tothe Caribbean and especially the English-speaking islands. Despite not being translatedstill Spanish, Geoffrey Philp is one of thosewriters who should join our readings. Philp, whowas born in Jamaica and currently lives inMiami, is a poet, short story writer andnovelist, who has become the Caribbeanexperience not only in an issue to be workedliterally, but his company is to reveal theintricacy of that experience in a variety offorms ranging from homophobia, go for thecrime, racism, and utter destruction of everydream that can be achieved in the hostcountry, the United States, as expressed in thestory Who's is your daddy? The play tells thestory of a young man of Jamaican origin, whogrows up without his father, who is unable toreplace any of the friends of his mother. Theboy commits a heinous crime at school, underthe stupefaction and helplessness of those whocould fill the role of the boy's father, a teacher,

a former soldier in Vietnam. Young certainlywas no fool. On the contrary, was a computer genius, but with the family and personal deficitthat is exacerbated by racism which the adolescent operates. Philp This story is just oneexample of what this seasoned novelist, which is inserted in the head and psychology of hischaracters. An understanding, however, is to recognize clearly the abyss of his characters.
