Very little is known of Caribbean literature today. There should be, not only by the circulation of titles, texts and writings, but also by the obvious historical, cultural and human from Panama to the Caribbean and especially the English- speaking islands. Despite not being translated still Spanish, Geoffrey Philp is one of those writers who should join our readings. Philp, who was born in Jamaica and currently lives in Miami, is a poet, short story writer and novelist, who has become the Caribbean experience not only in an issue to be worked literally, but his company is to reveal the intricacy of that experience in a variety of forms ranging from homophobia, go for the crime, racism, and utter destruction of every dream that can be achieved in the host country, the United States, as expressed in the story Who's is your daddy? The play tells the story of a young man of Jamaican origin, who grows up without his father, who is unable to replace any of the friends of his mother. The boy commits a heinous crime at school, under the stupefaction and helplessness of those who could fill the role of the boy's father, a teacher, a former soldier in Vietnam. Young certainly was no fool. On the contrary, was a computer genius, but with the family and personal deficit that is exacerbated by racism which the adolescent operates. Philp This story is just one example of what this seasoned novelist, which is inserted in the head and psychology of his characters. An understanding, however, is to recognize clearly the abyss of his characters.
