EMO ハノーバー2007 EMO Hannover 2007

2 年に 1 回欧州で開催される EMO 欧州国際工作機械展

は、今年から６日間に短縮され、９月１７日から２２日ま

でハノーバーの国際見本市会場において開催された。

世界 3 大工作機械見本市のひとつとされ、今回も世界

４２ヶ国から 2,120 社の工作機械メーカーが出展し、延べ

166,500 人の来場者があった。

日本からの出展者数は７９社であった。

出展機の傾向は、「複合加工機」・「同時５軸加工機」・

「大型加工機の高速化」が目立った。

次回、EMO ミラノ 2009 は、２００９年１０月５日から１０日

までイタリーのミラノにて開催される。 As one of the three biggest exhibitions of machine tools in the world, EMO Hannover 2007 was held at the exhibition centre in Hanover for 6 days from 17 to 22 September, where 166,500 visitors observed the latest models of machines, tools and accessories, exhibited by 2,120 companies from 42 countries in the world. Among them, 79 exhibitors were from Japan. At the show, the trends of the exhibited machines were “Multi-Tasking Machining”, “Simultaneous 5-axis Machining” and “High-speed Machining for the larger size workpieces”. The next “EMO Milano 2009” will be held from 5 to 10 October, 2009 in Milan, Italy. JMTIA 輸入促進ミッション 工作機械の輸入促進を目的として、EMO ハノーバー2007 にミッションを派遣し、近野会長以下総勢５５名が

参加した。 業界全体が好景気のせいもあって、大変に盛況であった。

EMO ハノーバー2007 の視察だけを目的とする「見本市コース」には 39 名、見本市を視察後、工場見学を含め

た「視察団コース」には１６名が参加した。

一行は９月１６日（日）に日本を出発して、「見本市コース」は９月２１日（金）、「視察団コース」はスイスとドイツ

の４社の工場見学をしてから９月２７日（木）に全員無事に帰国した。

JMTIA Import Promotion Mission JMTIA dispatched Import Promotion Mission to EMO Hannover 2007, with a total of 55 participants

including Mr. M. Chikano, Chairman of JMTIA. The dispatch of mission was a great success because of the prosperous situation of machine tool industries. A mission to only observe the exhibition had 39 participants and the other mission to make the factory tour after the exhibition had 16 participants. The both parties left Tokyo on 16th September (Sun) and “Exhibition Course” returned to Japan safe

on 21st September, while “Factory Tour Course” returned on 27th September after finishing the factory tour of four companies in Switzerland and Germany.

海外の関連団体との交流 Meeting with Overseas Associations

近野会長と中西専務理事がインフォメーションセンター内に設置された各国関連団体のブースを訪問して、

日本における工作機械の最新の輸入統計データやグラフに基づいて現状を説明し、意見交換した。 Mr. M. Chikano, Chairman and Mr. Y. Nakanishi, Executive Director of JMTIA visited the information stands of overseas associations in the Information Center to explain the latest statistics and graphs of the imported machine tools to Japan and exchanged the opinions of the trend of machine tool industry.

（１）全欧工作機械販売者協会 CELIMO 英国製造技術協会（MTA）の事務室にて、全欧工作機械

販売者協会（CELIMO）の会長と専務理事と面談した。

ＭＴＡの新専務理事に Mr. G. Dewhurst が就任された。 Mr. M. Chikano had a meeting with the officers of CELIMO at the MTA’s office. Mr. Graham Dewhurst is a successor oｆ Mr. Andrew Manly as Director General of MTA.

（３）スイス機械･電機工業会 SWISSMEM マイヤー博士およびブレトラー部長と面談した。 ＪＩＭＴＯＦ２００８における「スイス・デー」は、２００８年１１月３日（月）に開催することに決定した。 We talked with Dr. K. Meier, Head of Division and Mr. C. Blaettler, Manager of SWISSMEM. It was decided that “Swiss Day” at JIMTOF2008 will be held on 3rd November, 2008.

（５）欧州工作機械産業連盟委員会 CECIMO ＣＥＣＩＭＯは工作機械産業のヨーロッパ組織であり、EMO Hannover 2007 はＣＥＣＩＭＯの委託によって、

ドイツ工作機械工業会（ＶＤＷ）が主催している。

専務理事が Mr. Derek Palethorpe に交代になったとのことだったが、面談できなかった。 CECIMO is the European organization of machine tool industry and EMO Hannover 2007 has been

organized by VDW on behalf of CECIMO. We did not meet new Secretary General, Mr. Derek Palethorpe who is a successor to Mr. Rene Groothedde.

概要 ： 株式会社シーケービー藤田取締役会長のご案内で

訪問させていただいた。

１９６２年に創立された冷間転造機およびスロッティングマシン

のメーカーで、年間売上高は４５百万ｽｲｽﾌﾗﾝ（約４６億円）、

生産台数約３０台のほとんどが輸出され、顧客はドイツ、イタリー、

日本、南北ｱﾒﾘｶ等である。

主な加工品はクラッチプレートケースや各種スプラインシャフト。

従業員は約１２５人。人員の増加に対応して新しいオフィスビルを オフィスビル前で見学者一行

建設中で、２００７年末に完成予定。 JMTIA Party in front of the office

他に、部品生産用の Oetwil 工場を所有する。

組立てラインには、４台の完成機と組立て中の機械があって１台は日本向け（マツダ）であった。 We visited ERNST GROB AG on 20th September, 2007 escorted by Mr. T. Fujita, Chairman of CKB CORPORATION who represents ERNST GROB in Japan. The company was founded by Dr. Ernst Grob In 1962 and now produces Coldrolling Machines, Slotting Machines and Toolings. Their turnover is S.FRS45 million (approx. J.Yen4.6 billion) and most of their productions of 30 units per year are exported to customers in Germany, Italy, Japan and North/South America. The clutch plate cases and splined shafts are mainly machined on their coldrolling machines. The number of employees is 125 and the new office building is under construction to meet the increase of employees these years which is expected to complete by the end of 2007. The company has another factory for the manufacture of spare parts and components in Oetwil. There were 4 units of machines in process on the assembling line and one of them was for Mazda in Japan.

概要 ： ＹＫＴ株式会社殿のご好意により見学が実現した。

ステューダ社は１９１２年に設立された、精密円筒研削盤の

世界的メーカーであり、１９９４年から Koerber AG グループの

Koerber Schleifring グループに属している。Jung, Mikrosa, Schaudt,Ewag,Walter 等の有力な研削盤メーカーと同一の

グループである。サービス部門は分離別会社となっている。

年間売上高は２億ｽｲｽﾌﾗﾝ（約２０４億円）、従業員（正社員）数は オフィスビル前で見学者一行

約４８４人で、これまでに 18,000 台以上の研削盤を出荷し、 JMTIA Party in front of the office

その内の９６％が輸出された。 輸出先は、ドイツ２９％、その他ヨーロッパ３７％、中国を除くアジア１２％、北米

１１％、中国１０％である。 ハードターニングと仕上研削を同一機で加工できる新型機の納入を開始し、今年

は過去最高の年間売上高２．２億ｽｲｽﾌﾗﾝ（約２２５億円）となる見込みである。

機械の特長は、粉砕された花崗岩をエポキシ系樹脂で固化した”Granitan”と呼ばれるベッドが採用されており、

鋳物ベッドより８倍も振動減衰性に優れ、温度変化にも影響を受け難いという。 On 21st September, JMTIA party visited Fritz Studer AG by courtesy of YKT CORPORATION who represents Studer in Japan. Founded in 1912, Studer is one of the leading manufacturers of precision cylindrical grinders in the world and belongs to Koerber Schleifring Group owned by Koerber AG Group since 1994. The leading manufacturers of grinding machines like Jung, Mikrosa, Schaudt, Ewag and Walter belong to the same Koerber Schleifring Group which also owns two service companies separately.

Presentation by Mr. P. Selot The turnover is S.FRS200 million (approx. J.Yen20.4 billion) and the number of regular employees is 484.

They have shipped more than 18,000 units of machines, 96% of which has been exported. The regions of their export markets are Germany(29%), other European Countries(37%), Asia except China (12%), North America(11%) and China(10%). They have started to sell the new flexible machine for grinding and turning operations and the turnover for 2007 is expected to reach S.FRS220 million (approx. J.Yen22.5 billion) which is the highest mark in their history. The feature of machines is “Granitan” machine bed produced with crushed granite hardened by epoxy resin with better vibration damping by 8 times than normal casting bed and also unaffected by temperature.

ユングフラウヨッホ観光 Jungfraujoch-Top of Europe

ステューダ社の工場見学を終了して、週末のユングフラウヨッホ

観光のためにインターラーケンへ向かった。

９月２２日（土）は願ってもない快晴に恵まれ、一行はユングフラ

ウ鉄道でユングフラウヨッホ（若き乙女の肩）のトップ・オブ・ヨー

ロッパ（３，４５４ｍ）にあるスフィンクス展望台で、標高３，５７１

ｍからの大パノラマを楽しんだ。

途中駅のクライネ・シャイデックで、目前に迫る有名なアイガー

北壁に圧倒されながら記念撮影してから昼食。

復路はグリンデルワルトを経由して、絵本のような典型的な

Metropole Hotel Interlaken アルプスの山村の風景を見渡すことができた。 After finishing the factory tour at Fritz Studer AG, we moved to Interlaken for a sightseeing trip to Jungfraujoch-Top of Europe (3,454m) to spend weekend. It was clear on 22nd Sept. and JMTIA party climbed by the Jungfrau Railway to Jungfraujoch-Top of Europe and enjoyed a breathtaking panoramic view from “Sphinx”, 3,571m above the sea. Kleine Scheidegg Station locates at the foot of the Eiger North Wall where we took a photo and enjoyed lunch in front of the overwhelming cliff. On our way back to Interlaken, we enjoyed the fine natural beauty of Grindelwald, the typical village of the Alps like a

概要 ： グリーソンアジア株式会社技術開発室室長の

松原隆弘様のご案内により工場見学させていただいた。

１９００年にホブ盤メーカーHermann Pfauter として創業。 １９９７年に Gleason Corporation の傘下に入った。 ホブ盤（売上金額の４０％）、プロファイルグラインダー（同 ４０％）、ギアシェーパー（同２０％）のメーカーとして、グル

ープで２番目の規模である。 従業員は５００人、２００６年の売上高は１億ユーロ （約１６５億円）で、２００７年には過去最高となる見込み。 オフィスビル前で見学者一行 これまでに３万台以上を出荷しており、風力発電用歯車の JMTIA party in front of the office 加工機械では約８０％のシェアを占める。 最近の注文は４ｍクラスの大型機に集中している。 最大加工径は、ホブ盤５ｍ、プロファイルグラインダー６ｍ、ギアシェーパー４ｍである。 ２００８年３月に新工場が完成する予定。

On 24th Sept., 2007, JMTIA party visited Gleason-PFAUTER escorted by Mr. T. Matsubara, General Manager, Engineering Development Dept. of Gleason Asia Co., Ltd. who represents the Gleason Corporation in Japan. In 1900, Hermann Pfauter started to manufacture the hobbing machines and in 1997, the Gleason Corporation acquired the Hermann Pfauter Group companies. Now Gleason-PFAUTER is in the second place in scale among the Gleason Group companies, producing Hobbing Machines (accounts for 40% of sales), Profile Grinding Machines (40%) and Gear Shaping Machines (20%).

Presentation by Mr. U. Stolz The number of employees is 500 and the turnover in 2006 is and Mr. T. Matsubara EUR100 million (J.Yen16.5 billion) which is expected to reach

the highest record in 2007. They have shipped more than 30,000 units of machines and have an approx. 80% share of the market of machines for the gears of wind power generation. The recent trend of orders for the larger size machines with the range of workpiece diameter of 4m is increasing. The maximum diameter of workpiece is 5m for Hobbing Machine, 6m for Profile Grinding Machine and 4m for Gear Shaping Machine. The new factory will be completed in March, 2008.

アルフレッド Ｈ．シュッテ社を工場見学させていただいた。

１８８０年に設立され、ケルン市中央部に本社と製造拠点を

置く、多軸自動旋盤と５軸ＣＮＣ工具研削盤のメーカーで、 シュッテ社工場内で見学者一行

オーナー社長の Mr. Martin Welcker は、ドイツ工作機械工業会 JMTIA party at Alfred H. Schuette （ＶＤＷ）の会長を務めている。 年間売上高は８千万ユーロ（約１３２億円）、従業員は５５０人で約２５人の職業訓練生を含む。 標準機ではなく、技術的先進性と高精度の機械に重点を置き、多軸自動旋盤はスパークプラグ、ディーゼルエ

ンジンのコモンレール部品、継ぎ手などの加工を得意とする。 ５軸ＣＮＣ工具研削盤は多軸自動旋盤用工具

の製作と再研削を目的に開発され、年間約６０台生産されている。 ワンクランプによるミリング・研削・ポリッシ

ュの高精度加工により後加工が不要となり、人工膝インプラントのコストダウンができる。 JMTIA party visited Alfred H. Schuette on 25th Sept. escorted by Mr. K. Hisasue, Director & Manager Sales Dept. and Mr. K. Haino, Manager Sales Dept., Tokyo of GOSHO Co., Ltd. who represents Alfred H. Schuette in Japan. This company was founded in 1880 and has its headquarter and manufacturing site in the center of Cologne as a manufacturer of Multispindle Automatics and 5-axis CNC Grinding Machines. Mr. Martin Welcker, President and CEO is the owner of this company and also Chairman of the VDW (German Machine Tool Builders’ Association). The turnover is EUR80 million (J.Yen13.2 billion) and the number of employees is 550 which

technologies and high accuracy instead of the conventional standard machines. The main workpieces for Multispindle Automatics are spark plugs, parts for common rail system of diesel engines and couplings. 5-axis CNC Grinding Machines has been developed for the manufacturing and resharpening of cutting tools for multispindle automatics and approx. 60 units of machines has been manufactured in a year. The complete precise machining of milling-grinding-polishing of an artificial knee implant with one time clamping produces cost reduction by avoiding subsequent machining.

「スイス、スイス人気質について」

㈱アジエ・シャルミー・ジャパン 理事 室谷 一蔵

スイス外資のアジエ・シャルミーに入って早６年。 この間に得たスイス及び

スイス人気質についての雑感を思いつくまま書いてみました。

スイスは略九州と同じ大きさで人口は約８百万弱の小国。その一般的イメージ

と言えば、アルプスの白雪・氷河と緑のコントラストに第二次世界大戦中にも

中立を堅持した永世中立国ということでしょうか。（ただ、アルプス氷河も温暖

化の影響で年々小さくなり消滅も時間の問題のようです。温暖化恐るべし。）一方、女性が参政権を得たのが１９７０

年代、マリファナも自己のためであれば自家栽培ＯＫという意外な一面を持っています。これも永世中立を貫き、他

国の制度、文化の影響を容易には受け入れないという歴史の結果でしょうか。スイスとフランス国境のフランス側に

は多くの警察官が配置されマリファナがスイスから持込まれないか監視しているとのことです。（尚、ベルギーではマ

リファナを自己用のみならず他人に売る目的での栽培も認められています。）マリファナもＯＫという国柄か世界的に

タバコ規制が強まっているにも係わらず、喫煙人口がまだまだ多いように見受けられます。わがグループのスイス人

の多くが未だ喫煙者です。

ＥＣには加盟しておらず、通貨もスイスフランという独自の通貨を使用。ドイツ語圏、フランス語圏、イタリ‐語圏、ロマ

ンシュ語圏に分かれており殆どのスイス人が出身語圏の言葉と英語の二ヶ国語が話せ、大学出は通常三ヶ国語

以上話せるようです。この語学力がグローバル経済時代にマッチし、人口が少ない割には国際的な企業が多い

所以の一つになっていると思われます。

アジエ・シャルミー・グループは、元々ドイツ系であったアジエ社とフランス系のシャルミー社が１０年ほど前に合併し

誕生したという経緯もあり、ドイツ系スイス人とフランス系スイス人が混在した陣容となっています。やはり両者の気

質は違っており、日本人が抱いている一般的なドイツ人、フランス人のイメージに夫々近いと思って頂いて結構です。

時間に厳格かルーズか、仕事の進め方が実務的か感覚的かという違いが見受けられ面白いです。

最後に、企業文化について一言。外資系というと人間よりも数字を重視した合理的判断、行動をイメージしますが、

その正反対とは言えないものの数字より人間を、トップ・ダウンより現場判断を重視する傾向があり、最終判断も数

字より人の意見を聞きなされることが多いように見受けられます。また、種々の経営データ収集に熱心な一方、集め

たデータをどのように生かしているのか良く分からないという側面もあります。

一言で言えば、一昔前の日本の企業文化に近いものを感じます。迅速より慎重、革新より保守、アウトプットよりイン

プット、明瞭より曖昧ということでしょうか。

バブル景気以降日本企業も大きく変容し、その結果、トップ・ダウンによる方針転換、合併、部門売却等どちらかと言

えば数字に基づく合理的な決定がドンドン為されるようになりました。昔の日本企業文化を知っている者には何か釈

然としない大きな変わりようですが、忘れさられようとしている企業感覚をアジエ・シャルミーで思い出すことが出来た

ような気がしています。

尚、写真で私と一緒に写っているのは、同じ職場で働いているＩＴ担当のフランス系スイス人です。

“Swiss & the Swiss Character”

It has already passed six years since I joined the Swiss affiliated firm, Agie Charmille Japan Ltd.

I am going to write at ease my miscellaneous impressions of “Swiss and the Swiss Character” that I got during this

period of six years. Swiss is a small country having an almost the same area as Kyushu Island and a population of

approx. 8 million or less. I dare say the ordinary image would be the contrast between the white snow and glacier of

the Alps and the verdure, and also the permanent neutral nation which maintained neutrality through World War II.

(By the way, it is said that the Alps glacier is becoming smaller year by year affected by the global warming and it is

just a matter of time before it disappears. The global warming is terrifying ! )

On the other hand, Swiss has a surprising aspect that women received suffrage only in the 1970’s and that the

cultivation of marijuana for private use is lawful. It seems that these facts have come from the history that Swiss

stuck to the permanent neutrality and was never easily influenced by the system and culture of other countries.

I heard that many policemen were stationed at the French spots to watch the Swiss-France border so that marijuana

would not be carried into France from Swiss. (Moreover, it is perfectly lawful to cultivate marijuana not only for

private use but for the purpose of sale to another person in Belgium.) In view of the national backgrounds to accept

even marijuana, we can see many smokers as ever despite the regulations globally tightened against smoking.

There are still many smokers among my colleagues from Swiss.

Swiss is not affiliated with EC and has an individual currency of Swiss Franc and also has four language regions

each speaking German, French, Italian and Romansh, respectively. Most Swiss people speak two languages, their

native language and English, while university graduates usually speak more than three languages. I think that such

ability at languages, which is required for the age of global business, is one of the reasons why there are so many

international enterprises, considering its small population.

Since Agie, originally German company and Charmilles, originally French company merged into the Agie

Charmilles Group about ten years ago, the company is organized by a mixed people of the Swiss of German

ancestry and French ancestry. Sure enough, they have different characters from each other, which I may say to be

similar to the images of the German and French the Japanese have in mind. It is interesting to find the differences,

such as being punctual or loose, businesslike or sensitive, in their way of doing business.

Lastly, I have a word about the corporate culture. We understand the image of the foreign-affiliated firm is that the

rational judgment and action are more focused on figures than on personnel. However, although it is not exactly the

opposite, our company has a tendency to regard the personnel than figures, the judgment at the job site than that

from the top down, as the most important things, and also a tendency to make a final decision not by the figures but

by collecting the opinions of persons in charge. In addition, there is a side view that they are eager to collect the

various kinds of management data, while it is unclear whether they efficiently utilize them for the business. In a word,

I can see the similarities with the Japanese corporate culture of the past, which may tell us to be careful than quick,

conservative than innovative, input than output and vague than clear. As a result of the change of Japanese

corporations since the bubble economy, the rational decisions like the changes of policy from the top down, or the

mergers and the sale of divisions, have often been made based on the figures. I dare say that it is a big change that

may frustrate a person who knows the culture of Japanese corporation of the past, but then I have a feeling that Agie

Charmilles has brought me back this sense of corporation which tends to be pushed to the back of our minds.

Meanwhile, my colleague in the photo is a Swiss of French ancestry who is in charge of information technology

(his wife is Japanese).
