Las Vegas, Nevada• Arena will be completed in
2016.
• There is an ownership group - Bill Foley and the Maloof family.
• They have had a season-ticket drive, which has received pledges for over 10,000 tickets.
Seattle, Washington• 14th largest television
market in the country.
• Great destination to help the NHL expand the league’s footprint. Hockey would work well in Seattle.
• Only thing holding the city back is the lack of a building to house an NHL team.
Quebec City, Canada• A new arena is under
construction which can hold 18,000-plus fans for hockey.
• The NHL has a great relationship with Quebecor - the French-speaking TV rights holder for NHL games in Canada.
• Renew the rivalry with the Montreal Canadiens.
Toronto, Canada• Venture capitalist Graeme
Rouston says that he will apply for expansion to give Toronto a second NHL team.
• It is uncertain if a second team would be able to compete with the Maple Leafs, but it is a big city with a lot of hockey fans.
Kansas City, Missouri• The Spring Center is there
and able to house an NHL team.
• It has been a rumored relocation destination for teams such as the Pittsburgh Penguins (in past years).
• There is not yet an ownership interested in bringing a team to the city.
