Students who RSVP, via the slip below, are invited to the back of the school, with their parents, for continued fun with Waterwars, field and court games and the DJ ~ all while keeping cool thanks to Kona Ice.

At 3:15 we will raise our National Blue Ribbon and Maryland Green School Flags for the first time with music provided by Mr. Spang’s Jazz band.

It’s been a wonderful year at Folly Quarter! We hope you will all join us as we celebrate the successes of our students, staff and

faculty and say farewell and good luck to our 8th graders as they move up to high school. *unsolicited designation by TheBestSchools.org All students who choose to remain after school for the additional celebration time (2:30-3:30) are required to have a signed permission slip (BELOW) turned into the FQMS front office by Monday, June 16th and provide their own transportation home following the closing ceremony. PERMISSION SLIP Please complete and sign the slip below and have your child return it to the FQMS front office by 2:30 PM on Monday, June 16th. All students who choose to remain after school for the additional celebration time (2:30-3:30) are required to have a signed permission slip turned into the FQMS front office by Monday, June 16th and provide their own transportation home following the closing ceremony. FROM THE HEALTH ROOM For those of you that have medication in the Health Room please note that all medication must be picked up by 2:00 pm on Friday June 20th. Any medication that is not picked up will be disposed of. ATTENTION PARENTS New Entry Requirements for 7th Grader in 2014! The following are NEW REQUIREMENTS for 7th graders for the 2014-2015 school year: Meningococcal (MCV4) vaccination AND Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis/whopping cough) vaccination. Please visit your child's health care provider for adolescent immunizations and provide proof of the new entry requirements for students entering 7th grade to the health room. FREE IMMUNIZATION CLINICS Attention Parents: The Howard County Health Department is holding FREE IMMUNIZATION CLINICS for the new school requirements for students entering Kindergarten and 7th Grade next school year (2014-2015). IN-COMING 6TH GRADERS & NEW STUDENTS Watch your mail! A letter will go out to all incoming 6th graders and new students sometime this summer, outlining the details of the orientation on August 21 from 1 – 2:30 pm in the FQMS cafeteria. This orientation is for parents/guardians and students. Sixth-graders will receive their schedules at that time. LOST & FOUND Lost & Found - will be available ONLY until June 27th then it will be donated. TRANSPORTATION SURVEY Yesterday, we sent an email with a link to a very brief survey about transportation at FQMS. If you haven’t already done so, please take a moment to complete it so we can have the information we need to try to make sure we do the best job we can getting your children safely to and from Folly Quarter. P.L.E.D.G.E. CAMP – HOWARD COUNTY POLICE Open to 8th graders, this is a free one-week Leadership Camp sponsored by the Howard County Police. Two sessions: July 21-25 and August 4-8. Registration Packets are in the Student Services Office at FQMS. GLENELG SUMMER SPORTS CAMP The Glenelg High School Booster’s Club is once again pleased to offer summer sports camp instruction. The emphasis is on developing important fundamentals through many activities, challenging games and small-sided-scrimmages. The minimum player-to-player ratio is 1 to 1, and all participants will be grouped according to age and ability. All camps will be instructed by GHS Coaching Staff. Camps are limited to incoming 6th through incoming 9th graders (School year 2014-2015), current 5th through 8th graders. Payment-Cost: All camps are $175.00 per camp, per camper.
