Good afternoon to you all as we hit the halfway mark of the term! The Senior students had the best day today at the tee-ball round robin. I managed to pop out to see the team and it was evident that fun was being had by the smiles all around! I understand that the day had a little bit of everything: a win, a draw and a loss or two. Mrs Thurston and Deb also had a great day and were very proud of the way that everyone participated and encouraged one another. At our assembly this afternoon we reflected on the week and how busy it has been. We are very lucky to have had Art today with Natalie, who is filling in for Caroline Le Sueur for the remainder of the term, another funfilled session with Sam and the butterflies yesterday, and of course, topping things off with tee-ball today. Next week Sam will be in for an extra day, this time wearing his Junior Landcare hat. I have no doubt this will be more wonderful, hands-on learning. Your children may have mentioned some new faces around the school. We have Lucy, who has been helping out in the Junior classroom over the last few weeks, and Brianne, who many of you know from School’s Out officially joining the Hesket team for the next two terms. Brianne will be working either one-on-one or with small groups of students as part of the Department of Education’s tutor program, where students are given additional support or extension following 2020’s periods of remote learning. I also wanted to remind our Prep families that next week is the Preps first full week of school so we look forward to seeing them all five days. A note will be coming home to Prep families next week, inviting them to an information session on our Literacy programs. This session will be at 3pm on Tuesday the 9 th of March. Parent/Teacher Interviews Today your child should have brought home a slip with a time for next week’s parent/teacher interview. Please call the school on Monday if you have any queries. Students of the Week Congratulations to this week’s Students of the Week. Well done to Curtis, Thomas, Caitlin and Bridget who are our deserving Students of the Week this week! Good afternoon to you all as we hit the halfway mark of

the term!

The Senior students had the best day today at the tee-ball round robin. I managed to pop out to see the team

and it was evident that fun was being had by the smiles all around!

I understand that the day had a little bit of everything: a win, a draw and a loss or two. Mrs Thurston and Deb

also had a great day and were very proud of the way that everyone participated and encouraged one another.

At our assembly this afternoon we reflected on the week and how busy it has been. We are very lucky to have

had Art today with Natalie, who is filling in for Caroline Le Sueur for the remainder of the term, another funfilled

session with Sam and the butterflies yesterday, and of course, topping things off with tee-ball today.

Next week Sam will be in for an extra day, this time wearing his Junior Landcare hat. I have no doubt this will be

more wonderful, hands-on learning.

Your children may have mentioned some new faces around the school. We have Lucy, who has been helping out

in the Junior classroom over the last few weeks, and Brianne, who many of you know from School’s Out officially

joining the Hesket team for the next two terms. Brianne will be working either one-on-one or with small groups of

students as part of the Department of Education’s tutor program, where students are given additional support or

extension following 2020’s periods of remote learning.

I also wanted to remind our Prep families that next week is the Preps first full week of school so we look forward

to seeing them all five days.

A note will be coming home to Prep families next week, inviting them to an information session on our Literacy

programs. This session will be at 3pm on Tuesday the 9th of March.

Parent/Teacher Interviews

Today your child should have brought home a slip with a time for next week’s parent/teacher interview. Please

call the school on Monday if you have any queries.

Students of the Week

Congratulations to this week’s Students of the Week. Well done to Curtis, Thomas, Caitlin and Bridget who are

our deserving Students of the Week this week!

Instrumental Music Lessons

Early last year many of you expressed interest in instrumental music

lessons for your children but for obvious reasons, they never

eventuated. And so we’ll try again! We have begun conversations with

Ranges Music Network who have been recommended to us by our

local network of schools. The following information has been provided

to us by Shaun Evans, the Program Director at Ranges Music Network.

I encourage you to look at the links below.

The Ranges Music Network is excited to bring instrumental music programs to Hesket Primary School this

year! The RMN offers both in school group and individual lessons as well as fun, inclusive and

accessible Ensembles, Bands and Vocal Groups before and after school. How to get started? Get in touch with

our Program Director, Shaun Evans at [email protected] to discuss what you think would be the best fit

for your young musicians. We'll put everyone's preferences together and build out a schedule to

accommodate as much music and fun as we can squeeze in. For more information visit the Hesket Primary

page on our website at https://rangesmusic.net/hps.
