The theme this week is “Les abeilles et l’environnment”*Here are a number of activities for your child to work on this week. Pick and choose which activities your child would be interested in completing; there is no need to complete every activity unless your child wants to.

Bonjour mes amis! Savez-vous que le 20 mai est le jour des abeilles? Les abeilles sont très important pour l’environnement. Elles sont les pollinisateurs.

Il faut protèger les abeilles en plantant les fleurs. Comment peux-tu protèger l’environnement? Je peux aussi aider l’environnement en recylant, en réutilisant et en réduisant les déchets.

Translation: Hello my friends! Do you know that May 20 is Bee Day? Bees are very important for the environment. They are pollinators. We must protect bees by planting flowers. How can you protect the environment? I can also help the environment by recycling, by reusing and by reducing waste.

Write a sentence explaining how you can help the environment. Use the model: Je peux aider mon environnement en recylant. I can help the environment by recycling. En+verb+ ant =by___ing.

Les Maths

Quinze abeilles sont sur une fleur. Six s’envolent. Combien d’abeilles restent sur la fleur? Écrivez une phrase de soustraction pour montrer ce qui c’est passé. Dessinez le problème.

Translation:Fifteen bees are on a flower. Six fly away. How many bees are left on the flower. Write a subtraction sentence to show what happened. Draw the problem.
