Newsletter No. 7 - 21st March 2018 Greengs, I would like to thank our students and teachers for their efforts so far this term. Most students are engaged in learning and are enjoying their classrooms. Teachers are doing an amazing job catering for all the differences within their classrooms and do appreciate the support of families. Next time you see your child’s teacher, maybe take a minute to say, “Thanks”. I know it would make their day! Please mark Wednesday 28th March on your calendars as this is our Easter Hat Parade. It's a busy day for all but we would love to see you here! In conjunction with the Easter Hat Parade, the P & C are holding an Easter Raffle. We are seeking donations of eggs to make up as many large prize baskets as possible, so if your family would like to donate an Easter egg, please bring it in to the office. We thank you in advance for your assistance with bringing in lots of Easter Eggs to make the raffle a success. Now that our younger students have become more familiar with “big school”, we ask that parents consider a quicker drop-off in the mornings. By following a quicker “drop, kiss and go” routine in the morning you are helping to foster your child’s independence and their social skills relating to their peers. A reminder to all parents that if your phone numbers, residential address or email addresses change, please let us know as soon as possible. It is upsetting to the children when they are unwell and we can’t reach mum or dad as phone numbers have changed. Recently there have been a number of students arriving very early to school, sometimes even before staff are on site. This is a safety issue that requires addressing. Families are reminded that school supervision commences from 8:40am each morning. Students should arrive after this time. If your child needs to be here a few minutes early, then we ask that they sit under the primary COLA and wait for the 8:40am bell. We have had an excellent response from parents and students in regards to student uniforms this term and it is really great to see. Wearing the correct school uniform reflects pride in our school and assists us to ensure that students are not discriminated against because they cannot afford or are not allowed to wear specific brand name clothes or accessories. Our students look great when they are dressed in our full school uniform. We look forward to your continued support on this matter as we set high expectations for our students across the school. To get the most out of education, children need to go to school every day. Students who attend school regularly are more likely to achieve better results at school and are more likely to complete their schooling. It is important to remember all Australian states and territories have legislation that requires parents to ensure their children attend school. Please explain any absences within 7 days in writing or via the Skoolbag app. If you are having attendance issues with your child, please contact us so we can work together to improve attendance at school. Please give your child every chance to succeed Have a great week. Stewart Copeland Principal

Greetings, I would like to thank our students and teachers for their efforts so far this term. Most students are engaged in learning and are enjoying their classrooms.
