Over the years the college has achieved continued success in serving the cause ofeducation. The college presents a happy blend of traditional and modern educationwhere knowledge is imparted to the students so that they may occupy a better placein the modern competitive world, develop all round personalities while retaining thebeauty of mind, intellect and soul. I am proud of the institute's Alumni who are holdingresponsible position in social, political and economic life of the nation. Education is the backbone of every nation and is the stepping stone for a country to move into the niche ofa developed nation. Institute of Innovation in Technology and Management has been contributing in themission of 'Nurturing Excellence' by transforming the young minds into innovative minds.

It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you to the innovative world of IINTM which has an eco-friendlycampus and is equipped with state-of-art infrastructure. We have well equipped labs and libraries to helpstudent s in at taining highes t standar ds in aca dem ics , resear ch and professional ski lls.

We at IINTM, aim to provide an overall development that nurtures students towards becoming strong andfocused human beings. The main focus of the Institution is to empower students with sound knowledge,wisdom, experience and training for success at academics as well as competitive global industrial market.The infrastructure facilities and state-of-the-art equipment's combined with a galaxy of competent, talentedand dedicated faculty contribute to an enjoyable and an easy learning experience. All this and much moreis reflected in this edition of 'Pratibimba' where student's achievements in all areas have been aptly depicted.

In a dynamically vibrant institution of higher learning, several accomplishments both academic and non- academic are registered every month, IINTM is no exception. Last six months were really eventful inthat sense. On one hand, a batch of hardworking students graduated, while on the other we extended awarm welcome to another set of intellectually bright fresher's. Some of our recent graduates got placed intop notch companies such as Infosys and Wipro, U 18, CSC India and Tech Mahindra and several othershave enrolled themselves in institutions of higher learning for pursuing their post graduate dreams. Lastsemester saw some key contributions from both faculty and students in various events which furtherbrought out some of the best student potentials in an all-round manner, again giving thrust to our motto, 'Nurturing Excellence'. A development worth reckoning! True to this spirit, we are very glad to release thisissue of IINTM's newsletter 'Pratibimba' which truly is a reflection of our continuous developmentalactivities. 'Pratibimba' has once again featured the student success stories and how they have been able totriumph over a variety of circumstances to pursue their goals and dreams. Further, 'Pratibimba' attempts tooffer a snapshot of the myriad hues of IINTM's curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular life. Theeditorial team remains grateful to the faculty members, staff and students for a regular contribution ofmaterials and photographs for the newsletter. In view of the birthday of Swami Vivekananda on 12th January, the Institute celebrated "Youth Day" on 13thJanuary 2015. The students and faculty gathered in the Basement Conference Hall to be a part of this event.Youth Day started with a brief on Swami Vivekananda and then a documentary was shown on his life and learning.The documentary was motivating and stimulating for the audience.

To celebrate the 66th Republic Day of India, the Institute of Innovation in Technology & Management, Janakpuri, New Delhi,organized a ceremony to hoist the National flag on 24 Jan 2015, at 9:30 a.m. at the institute ground. The ceremony was attendedby the students, faculty and the staff of the institute. The Chairman of the IITM Group of Institutions, Shri J.C. Sharmaaddressed the gathering and stressed upon the need for our young generation to imbibe the values enshrined in our Constitution.

IITM group of Institutions organized its annual technical and cultural fest “FIESTA” on 23rd and 24th Feb 2015. Thefestival included diverse technical and cultural events which drew a large number of students to participate. The eventwas inaugurated by Shri. J.C Sharma (Chairman-IITM Group of Institutions). Also present on the occasion wereProf. C.P. Chawla (Director-IINTM) and Dr. Rachita Rana (Director-IITM). The first day of the festival included Soloand Group Singing Competitions, Solo Dance Competition and preliminary round of Mr. and Ms. Fiesta 2015 held at thecollege auditorium. The auditorium was brimming with students of several colleges who actively participated as well asformed a very enthusiastic and supportive audience. The technical events held on 23rd February included LAN Gaming,Website Designing, Programming Competition, Query handling and IT Quiz. To enable the students to showcase theircreativity, Inter-college events like Collage and Poster Making, T-Shirt Painting, AD MAD show, Rangoli, Cartooningand Sketching competitions were also held. Cooking without fire was one competition that brought to the fore the culinaryabilities of both boys and girls. Nukkad Natak was also held on the first day of the festival.

Day two of the fest was a grand affair with the venue being shifted to Thyagaraj Stadium. Group Dancing and Mr. andMs. Fiesta were the events lined for the day. The festival concluded with the live performances by J Star and Manjeet J.The students were present in large numbers and were captivated with the live performances. The team of “Hey Bro”also turned up for the event to promote their upcoming movie. All in all FIESTA 2015, turned out to be successful andentertaining event.

The Institute organized its Annual Sports Day this time at Hari Nagar Sports Complex. Various indoor and outdoor gameswere organized for the students like Basket Ball, Volley Ball, Tug of War, Cricket, Chess, Carrom, Table Tennis.Outdoor games namely Cricket, Basket Ball, Volley Ball and Tug of War were held at the Hari Nagar Sports Complexon 28th February whereas indoor games like Chess, Carrom and Table Tennis were organized in the institute premiseson 2nd March 2015. The students showed a great zeal and fervor in participating in the events. The faculties and thestaff also helped in conducting the event smoothly.

Festival of Holi was celebrated with great enthusiasm on 5th March 2015. It was an informal get together for all the Facultyand staff members of Institute of Innovation in Technology and Management. The opening of the event was done byMs. Kalpana Jha followed by Mr. Raju as the anchor of the event. Faculty members participated by singing Holi songs, sharingjokes, beneficial tips for playing safe Holi and by invoking the blessings of the God. Mr. Sanjay Shukla, Dr. Renu Sharmaand Ms. Shalu Kapoor sung songs and made the atmosphere melodious. Mr. Harsh's jokes made the entire room burst intolaughter. The event ended with a very beautiful poem composed and narrated by Mr. Raju. At the end faculties were distributedsweets, snacks and color.

The GGSIPU University organized its Sixteenth Annual Culturalfestival “Anugoonj 2015” from 28th February to 2nd March, 2015.This mega event saw a great response from students of all affiliatedcolleges and schools of study. Our students worked hard to put up agreat show in the Finals of Anugoonj. A total of 50 students of BBA,BCA, BCAM and B.Com of Institute of Innovation in Technology &Management participated in GGSIP university fest in variousactivities like Music, Dance, Literary events, Dramatic, Fine Artsand Mr. & Ms. Anugoonj. We are proud to announce that our studentsMr. Shesh Murgai and Ms. Bhawna Negi won the first prize in NachBaliye Competition. Also, Mr. Karan Pandey and Mr. Kamalpreet Singhsecured the second position in Debate Competition. Several otherstudents from BCA, BBA, BBACAM stood at the fourth positionin the Street Play Competition.

“DAYITVA” Club of institute ran a charity drive for one week i.e. from 6th Apr to 11th Apr 2015. All donations weregiven to MOUKSHA FOUNDATION. Items contributed included such as toys and games, apparels, eatables, cerealsand pulses, books and stationery and household items (e.g. buckets, mugs, utensils, toiletries, towels and handkerchief).

The Institute celebrated its Annual Day in its campus on 2nd May 2015. The event began with encouraging speechby Shri J C Sharma Ji, Chairman, IITM. Further, Dr. C P Chawla Director, IINTM gave the welcome address byhighlighting the achievements of the college in the year 2014-2015 and also outlined the future endeavors of theinstitute.

Awards & Merit certificates were distributed to the students for outstanding performance in:(1) Academics(2) Best Presentation(3) Best Projects(4) Cultural Events(5) Sports(6) Co-Curriculars activities

The students also presented various cultural programmes. The events concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr.Geetali Banerji, HOD-IT, IITM-JP and reciting of the National Anthem by all present.

Institute of Innovation in Technology and Management organizedthe farewell party for the outgoing students of 2012-2015 Batchon 7th of May 2015 at Green Lounge Banquet Hall, SubhashNagar. On the arrival of our Honorable Chairman Shri. J.C.Sharma along with Shri Satyaprakash, Ms. Rozy Sharma andMs. Seema Sharma, the function started with fashion show byfinal year students to decide Mr. and Miss. IINTM. Winners weredecided by three judges Dr. Monika Kulshreshtha, Dr. GeetaliBanerji and Mr. Sukhvinder Singh. The function comprised ofdance and singing performances and a video made by juniors as a

farewell gift to final year students. Mr. Vishesh Dutta and Ms. Sharmistha Dev were titled as Mr. and Miss. IINTM.Honorable Chairman Shri. J. C. Sharma along with Shri Satyapraksh, Ms. Rozy Sharma and Director Prof. (Dr.) C. P.Chawla congratulated the winners by giving awards and motivated them to work hard so as to achieve their goalsin life. Surprised titles were also given to the students followed by lunch and jam session. All the faculty membersalso wished all the final year students good luck for success in their life.

thFarewell- 2015: 7 of May 2015

thIndustrial Visit to Parle-G: 28 Jan 2015

An industrial visit was organized for the final year students of BBA and 2nd year students of B.Com (Hons). A batch offifty students visited Parle-G. The main purpose of the visit was to acquaint our students with internal working processin an industry.

About Parle-G, Parle Products was established as confectionery in the Vile Parle suburb of Mumbai, in 1929. It beganmanufacturing biscuits in 1939. In 1947, when India became independent, the company launched an ad campaign,showcasing its 'Gluco' brand of biscuits as an Indian alternative to the British biscuits. Parle-G biscuits were earliercalled 'Parle Gluco' Biscuits until the 1980s. The "G" in the name Parle-G originally stood for "Glucose", though a laterbrand slogan also stated "G means Genius". In 2013, Parle-G became India's first domestic FMCG brand to cross the 5,000 Crore in retail sales. The entire visit was very informative and enlightening.

The Institute organized a trip to Parliament Museum on 16th March 2015 for Elite Group Students. The main objectiveof the visit was to make students aware about the freedom struggle of India. A total of 54 students along with 2 facultymembers visited the museum. After the security check, the museum guide took over going through storytelling,paintings of significant leaders, an evocative audiovisual on 1857, collections of the first speaker G.V. Mavlankar, theuniform of the marshal of the central legislative assembly, the original chair of the first Prime Minister of India, a replicaof the Constitution and memorable artifacts of Mahatma Gandhi, etc. Students heard some Patriotic songs of their choicewhich were recorded in 22 languages and a documentary on Transfer of Power was also shown to them. Students alsohad an emotional experience of walking alongside Mahatma Gandhi, in the Dandi March of 1930, in a virtual realityexhibit. An animatronics speech of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, which he delivered on the midnight of 14-15 August 1947 wasalso attended by students.

thTrip to Parliament Museum: 16 March 2015

The Parliament Museum also displays the portraits of national leaders unveiled in the Central Hall from time to time,apart from the artifacts and souvenirs received from different countries and preserved in the Archives. The trip was veryinformative for students as they not only learned about the freedom struggle of India but also saw an excellent use oftechnology.

A Faculty Development Program (FDP) was organized by the institute on 17th January 2015 from 10:30am to 1:00pm.The resource person was Dr. Alok Sakalani, Director, Apeejay School of Management. This session was particularlyorganized for faculties in Management Department who adopt case study methodology in their pedagogy. Dr. Saklani

highlighted that case studies can bring a whole new perspective to a regular classroom teaching and learning whichcould reduce fear among the students regarding the management subjects. For this, he stressed on active participationby faculty members. In the second session Dr. Saklani highlighted the importance of research and gave idea about researchprocess, measurement scales, use of secondary data, sources of accessing case studies, identifying the authenticity ofsecondary data and key points to be kept in mind while discussing cases with students. This was followed by discussionon a case study titled “Saturn: A Different Kind of A Car Company”. The FDP program received an overwhelmingresponse from faculties.

Management Conclave was organized on 31st January 2015. The event started at 10.00 am. Students actively participatedfrom different colleges and presented research papers on various issues related to management. A total of 14 studentspresented the research papers. The winners who received the cash prize are as follows:

The 3rd Faculty Club Meeting was held in the Seminar Hall of the IINTM. The meeting started with one minutesilence in remembrance of the people who have lost their lives in recent terrorist attacks (The Peshawar Shootoutin School, The riots in Assam and The Massacre of Journalists at Charle Hebdo). This was followed by thoughtprovoking presentation by Dr. Rachita Rana, Director, IITM on the Global Oil Prices along with a video display ofSteve Job's lecture at Stanford University Convocation. The meeting culminated with High Tea and Vote ofThanks from the Head of Department of Management Studies, Dr. Monika Kulshreshtha.

A total of 15 students of BBA programme from Institute of Innovation in Technology & Management participatedin a workshop on “How to Crack Case” organized by Apeejay School of Management, Dwarka, New Delhi withthe objective of developing competency for analyzing management cases/caselets among youth aspiring foradmission to B-schools.

A meeting of the Elite group of students was held on 13th Feb 2015. The Director (Prof.) C.P Chawla conducted themeeting. The elite group of students interacted and discussed about various academic and co-curricular issues facedby the students during the academic session. Some students suggested that some expert sessions by industrial stalwartsshould be arranged to strengthen the teaching learning process. The Director reiterated his commitment about takingconcrete steps to satisfy the student's needs for academic excellence.

National Seminar On “Sustainable Business Practices In Global Business Environment :

Issues, Challenges And Prospects”: 14th March, 2015

A National Seminar was organized by the Institute on the theme “Sustainable Business Practices In Global BusinessEnvironment: Issues, Challenges And Prospects” on 14th March'2015 in the Institute premises. The inauguralsession of the national seminar was attended by eminent speakers like Rajesh Rishi, Member of LegislativeAssembly (MLA), Janakpuri Constituency, Dr. Sanjiv Mittal, Dean- University School of Management Studies(USMS), GGSIP University and Professor Prodyut Bhattacharya, Ex-Dean, University School of EnvironmentManagement (USEM), GGSIP University. The first technical session was Chaired by Prof. Bikram Kesari Pattanaik, IGNOU and was Co-Chaired byMr. Rajiv Ralhan, Energy Auditor, Pricewaterhouse Coopers India. The session focused on Perspectives onSustainable Development. The session facilitated the exchange of opinions and expertise of distinguished speakersand brought forward different perspectives on Sustainable Development such as the role of women and youth insustainable development, corporate governance, entrepreneurial education and significance of developing greenbuildings. The second technical session was Chaired by Prof. Manipadma Datta, TERI University and wasCo-Chaired by Dr. Anubhuti Dwivedi, Associate Professor, IITM. The Session deliberated on Sustainable BusinessModels and Practices. There were presentations by distinguished speakers on topics such as sustainable marketing, green supply chainmanagement, social entrepreneurship and micro-financing. The third technical session was chaired by Dr. KiranmaySarma, Associate Professor, University School of Environment Management, GGSIP University and was co-chairedby Dr. Renu Sharma, Associate Professor, IINTM. The Session deliberated on Achieving Sustainable Development-RoadAhead. There were presentations by distinguished speakers on effectiveness of audit committee, corporate liability &environment, work- life balance, mentoring, quality of work life and harnessing organizational creativity. At theconclusion, the valedictory address and vote of thanks was proposed by Prof Dr. Monika Kulshreshtha. The seminar endedon a high note leaving the audience enriched and enthusiastic about sustainable development practices.

A lecture on Digital Marketing “Digithon (Asia's Biggest Digital Event)” was organized from 11:30 till 12:30 on 18thMarch, 2015 in basement auditorium of IITM. Mr. Ravi Chopra and Mr. Shivam Ahuja co –founder of many bloggingsites conducted the one hour lecture. They shared information on the Market of Internet these days and how blogscould help create revenue. Discussion about six verticals of the digital marketing was made which included SEO, SMO,PPC, Affiliate marketing, CPA and Video marketing. The lecture was concluded with a note to conduct a workshop forstudents on 6th April, 2015 and to motivate them to learn about this market and various tools that could help them with it.

A Guest Lecture on “Career Opportunities” was being organized on 19th March, 2015 in IINTM Auditorium.Dr. R. Chadha elaborated the various options that students could undertake after completing their graduation.Students were made aware about all the hard nuts they have to crack during their professional career. Also, heenlisted the top institutes from where students can pursue their MCA like BITS (Ranchi), IIC South Campus,Pune University, Delhi University, Hyderabad Central University etc.

IITM Group of Institutions in association with DeitY and CERT-In, Government of India organized a day-longNational Conference on Cyber Security: A Panoramic View on 21st March, 2015 in IITM campus.

The conference registered a confluence of eminent dignitaries and experts. Dr. B. J. Srinath, Sr. Director,CERT-In, DeitY was the chief guest for the occasion. Dr. P.K Saxena OS/SC 'H', Director, SAG, DRDO was theGuest of Honor for the occasion. In his inaugural address, Dr. B. J. Srinath stressed on how IT has to undergo amuch needed change and improvise on its various dimensions. His deliberation was focused over CyberNovelties in the current era. In keynote address, Dr. P.K. Saxena highlighted about cyber space and the importanceof 'Cyber Security Risk Analysis'.

Guest Lecture on ‘Understanding of Changing Financial Landscape’ was organized on 25th March 2015. Theesteemed speaker for the session was Dr. Vinod Kumar, M.Com, M. Phil, Ph.D, DBF, AFP NSE certified forcapital markets, derivatives, mutual funds and commodity markets. He has over 35 years' experience inteaching, over 12 years' experience in the publication of financial newspaper on stock markets (Rupee Times)and is the founder editor of the Investor's India of Bajaj Capital. Dr. Vinod Kumar shared his knowledge offinancial market and financial products in the very easy and interactive manner with students and facultymembers. His session guided students on the stock market, financial products, derivative market, commoditymarket, the inflation and deflation of economy as a globe.

The post lunch session of the conference was conducted in two parallel sessions one Chaired by Dr. Sushila Madanand other by Dr. A.K. Mohapatra. Prof. Anand Nayyar of KCL Institute of Management addressed the audienceon cyber security and information security. Second technical session concluded with Dr Sushila Madan'senlightening views on cyber security. The conference convener, Prof Sandhya Maitra delivered the valedictoryaddress followed by vote of thanks by Dr. Geetali Banerji.

The first technical session was Chaired by Ms. Anu Khosla, Scientist-G, SAG, DRDO. Dr. A.K. Mohapatrawas our distinguished panelist. Ms. Khosla initiated the first technical session by introducing the topic“Securing Critical Infrastructure”. She talked about various cyber attacks being done today and the reasonsassociated with it which included increasing dependence on networking. Dr. Anup Girdhar, CEO & FounderSedulity Solutions, Editor –in-Chief Cyber Time highlighted vulnerabilities associated while accessing cyberspace and the problems in using various protocols like SMTP, HTTPS. Dr. A.K.Mohapatra, Associate Professor,IGIT, Panelist cum speaker, delivered his talk on cryptographic research, application areas and pre- requisitesof learning cryptography. Technical Session I was concluded by Dr. Anurag jain, Additional CoordinatorWeekend Program, USICT, who illuminated all about internet phishing and its types like spear phishing,whaling, rogue (Wi Fi).

The parents were thankful for holding the meeting and were happy to be made aware of the progress of theirchildren. There was a suggestion that such meeting could be conducted every two months in the Semester.The feedback received from the parents during the interaction reflected that these meetings are valuablefor the parents and students. The students whose parents could not attend the meeting, were intimated tocall their parents as soon as possible.

The session was started with the topic of embedded systems and students were involved by raising variousquestions. Mr. J S Saggu beautifully elaborated the applications of Android and the industry scope relatedto it. He also shed light on advanced topics like PCB, Intel Trainer Kits, Projects on Amul, IOD, EmbeddedSystems etc. The entire session was highly informative and interactive.

The Parent Teacher Meeting was organized in the Institute on the 11th April 2015. The Parents were informedabout attendance, class performance and Internal and Final results. Parents also shared the problem they arefacing regarding their ward's academic performance. All the subject faculties discussed with the parents howthe performance of the student can be improved in future. The basic objective of this meeting was not onlyto make all the parents/guardians aware about their ward's performance in the class but also to apprise themabout their overall personality and skill development status.
