Happy St Patrickrsquos Day
Prince Kūhiō Day is an official holiday in the state of Hawaiʻi in the United States[1] It is celebrated annually on March 26 to mark the
birth of Prince Jonah Kūhiō Kalanianaʻole mdash heir to the throne of the Kingdom of Hawaiʻi prince of the House of Kalākaua and later terri-
torial delegate to the United States Congress[2] As Delegate Kuhio authored the first Hawaii Statehood bill in 1919 He also won passage of
the Hawaiian Homes Act creating the Hawaiian Homes Commission and setting aside 200000 acres (810 km2) of land for Hawaiian
homesteaders It is one of only two holidays in the United States dedicated to royalty the other being Hawaiʻis King Kamehameha Day

A healthier way to helliphellip Toss your meds - Donrsquot just chuck or flush pills and liquids down the toilet Get rid of your medica-
tion safely with these tips from Matthew Grissinger R PH a pharmacist with the Institute for Safe
Medication Practices
Remove the medication from its container Mix with used coffee grounds other wet gar-
bage or unused cat litter The goal is to contaminate the drugs so theyrsquore not usable
Then seal the mixture in a plastic bag or container and throw in the trash
Rip Off or black out prescription labels ldquoMaking the medicines unidentifiable will stop
people from misusing them or finding your personal informationrdquo Grissinger says
Take special care with EpiPen Injectors and other needles Place them into an FDA-
cleared needle disposal container which is made of heavy-duty plastic and is restant to
punctures and leakage Your health care provider might be
able to give you one they typically cost a few dollars online
or at the pharmacy Then call your trash or recycling center
to find out where you can dispose of them Some medical
facilities have drop boxes or your community might have
hazardous waste collection sites
