Inside this Issue
Dear Parents
Happy New Year! I hope that the first week of school is go-ing well for your child and he / she has set-tled into the rhythm of school.
2015 has started well for the school as we are back in our Tampines upgraded premises. With the completion of the PERI Upgrading project (2013—2014) there are more classrooms to accommodate all the six levels of stu-dents. The school is now a single session school with 1759 stu-dents (53 classes) having their lessons at the same time.
Having a single ses-sion, the school has also creatively put to-gether the school’s distinctive pro-grammes for P3 to 6

levels. Four key are identified to develop skills and competencies for the 21st century Hil-dans. They are: Ap-plied Learning, Learn-ing for Life, ICT / Cyberwellness and Val-ues in Action (VIA).
The Primary 1 and 2 students are not left out as they will be intro-duced to a new pro-gramme called Pro-gramme for Active Learning. Please see Page 5 for more details.
On the first day of school for all levels we had our Fathers group championing the “Back to school with dad” pro-gramme. Thanks to all our fathers for making time to join your child in starting the school year. This is an annual event for the first day of school.
I hope that all our fa-thers will continue to take time out to bring your child to school on the first day.
As partners of the school, I seek your prayer support in the following:
- Hildans will enjoy school and forge good friendships
- Teachers will teach well and build good rapport with each child
-School programmes including the distinc-tive programmes both in the academic and non-academic sub-jects will achieve the student outcomes.
I look forward to your continuous support for the school.

Praise God that the whole PERI upgrading project has been completed. We are thankful to God for overseeing to the safety and provision for the whole project.
On 3 Jan 2015, we have started school in our Tampines premises for P4 to 6 and on 5 Jan for P1 to 6. With the additional facil-ities, the children get to have their own classrooms and have more spacious library, school hall and playground.
I like to thank all our par-ents and students for ac-commodating the incon-
PERI UPGRADING PROJECT (COMPLETION)
veniences caused by hav-ing to put up with smaller classrooms and lesser facil-ities at the Bedok holding site. Two years passed very quickly and now we are able to enjoy the full fa-cilities provided by school.
Also, with all the parents’ and stakeholders’ support, the total funds raised for the upgrading is $1.35 million over the past few years. On behalf of the staff and students, I like to thank all our faithful supporters for your generous donations and love gifts for the pro-ject.
PURCHASE OF PER-FORMING ARTS THEA-TRE SEATS
To date, we have sold 137
of the 350 seats in the Per-forming Arts Theatre at $1,000 per seat.
For those who are still inter-ested to purchase a seat to leave a legacy for the future generations, you could still do so. I am appealing to our Primary One parents to con-sider supporting this good cause. In fact, we have a number of parents who had purchased a seat for each of their children. Kindly make cheque payable to St Hilda’s Primary School indicating that the payment is for the purchase of seat as well as the name to be inscribed on the back of the seat. A tax-exempt receipt will be is-sued for this.
