    Changes Abound

    By Dr. Michael Moon

    The society in which we live today is nothing like that my generation grew up in. My generation was boto those of the WWII era. We grew up in a world that was filled with some of the most influential changof a century, changes in science, music and the arts. Those changes in science ranged from putting mainto space to great advancements in medicine. In music, we saw those who would change the culture o

    time with their songs and music. Changes brought on by the Beatles in rock and pop, country singerssuch as Buck Owens, Johnny Cash, and those groups such as the Statler Brothers, Oak Ridge Boys andAlabama, Motown Singers such as the Supremes, Temptations and the Jackson 5, and Gospel singers suas the Inspirations, the Seago Brothers, and many more that changed the face of music which began inthe early years of the 20th century with The Carter Family, Hank Williams, Sr., Frank Sinatra and the thobig bands such as Glen Millers Band, the Dorsey Brothers and many more.

    We saw gasoline prices go from 29 cents a gallon to the current $3.40 a gallon. A loaf of bread went fro8 cents a loaf to over $2.00 a loaf. We watched milk prices go from 49 cents a gallon to $3.00 a gallon.The year I was born my dad made $48 a week and brought home $42. The rent was $4 a week and thelight bill was $1.40 a month. The natural gas bill was 60 cents a month. Our phone number was Plaza9

    and it was a party line. The second ring was our call. My dad could buy used cars for $25 to $50 dollareach. All we needed to bring to school was a pencil and paper, the school provided everything else. Icould get a lunch ticket for a week for 25 cents. I remember mom and dad took us on a vacation toPanama City, Florida in 1964 and they only took $100 for the whole trip which lasted a week and camehome with money. The motel on the beach only cost $3 a night. The couple was very nice. I remembehe worked as a postal worker in Dothan, Alabama and would commute. In our world today, that hundredollars might pay for a good meal on that trip today.

    Here is something to ponder over also. In 1969, when my grandmother passed away, it cost $350 for thfuneral including the casket. Today that same funeral would cost over $10,000.

    Greed, my friends, has feed the souls of those born from our generation to create the society which welive in today. Many times I feel like an outcast and wonder in amazement at the drastic changes whichhave taken place in such a short period of time. We said yes sir and yes maam. If we answered ourparents the way children answer parents today we would expect a good spanking. Today if you spank achild, you will likely go to jail. And that child will not learn the respect we had for our parents. Take agood look around and see what we have created. Its not a pretty picture. And we wonder why God issending messages like hurricanes, earthquakes and droughts. You would be surprised at the young folkof today who do not believe we have a God and the Bible is just a book of fairy tales. Those young peobetter learn to wise up and get a hold upon their lives and bring God into it before it is too late.

    With Your Help, the Henry Count y Police Departm entWant s to Recreate th e Past

    The current Henry County Police Department was formed in 1991 as a response toexplosive population growth that only recently abated with the economic downshiftthe past few years. Although growth has slowed, interest in the origins of policing i

    the county have increased to such a level that the police department has decided to set out on a journeyof self-discovery. With the help of citizens, the Henry County Police Department wants to recreate thepast.

    Not to be confused with the Henry County Sheriff, who has done an excellent job of researching anddocumenting the history of that elected office in Henry County (CLI CK HERE), the Henry County PoliceDepartment is looking for help in preparing a timeline of its history prior to 1991. Early badges and patchfrom retired officers and families have surfaced that hint at an existence in the 1960s and prior to mid-century. Artifacts and anecdotal evidence suggest that the county police department may have existed insome embodiment as early as the 1940s or before. However, information is sparse and research throughthe countys own documents is limited to 1991 and later.

    The Henry County Police Department is requesting the assistance of local residents, many of whom havelived here for a lifetime, who have personal ties to, or relics from, a bygone era that could find a showcain this endeavor. Photographs, agency public information releases, print newspaper articles, names, dateand photos of the chiefs of Police, badges, patches, uniforms, training certificates, commendations and tlike, earned by early department members are all being sought by the Department. The goal is toformulate a timeline of official police enforcement in Henry County, outside of the Sheriff and municipalagencies.

    In addition to tangible records, the Department seeks personal or civic stories prior to 1991 involving ancommand staff, patrolmen, detectives, and other personnel, precincts, incidents, cases, trials, promotionliaisons, meetings, and contracts, and any activities of the many who served our county by wearing theuniform of the Henry County Police Department under that name, or any other. Coupled with the artifactof the era(s), these oral histories can help illustrate a compelling cross-section of the historical and sociafabric of Henry County through the guise of the Henry County Police Department.

    If you are able to assist the Department in this project and/or would like more information, please contaeither Major Mark Amerman at [email protected] or (770) 288-8277 or Researcher KimberlyMonast at [email protected] or (770) 288-8133. Please DO NOT send unsolicited tangiblematerials without contacting us so that we may protect and be accountable stewards of your property.

    DO NOT ALLOW FEAR MONGERS TO INFLUENCE YOUR VOTE!

    Under the proposed Constitutional Amendment, "A Charter School SHALL: "Operate under the terms of acharter between: The State Board of Education AND "NOT include religious or for profit schools".

    So, to my conservative friends you don't have to worry about your kid being taught Sharia Law.

    Yet, opponent s of the Amendment are t hrow ing out scare tactics that have no meaning underGeorgia's proposed amendment. The following excerpt was taken from a mass email delivered by one oour conservative, Tea Party leaders. It is shameful that this type of appeal is the best these opponentscan come up with. It is no different than Joe Biden telling Black Americans the Republican Party willputhem back in chains.

    Were not dealing with anonymous sources here. This comes fromAN INTERVIEW WITHREPUBLICAN CONGRESSMAN JASON CHAFFETZ who sits on two Homeland Security subcommittees

    relaying the responses from General Carter Ham heading up the United States Africa

    Command (AFRICOM) who had direct responsibility for the situation.

    General Ham told Chaffetz that the forces were available, but that no order to use them wa

    given. Defense Secretary Panetta had claimed that the refusal to use force had come fromhim, General Dempsey and General Ham.

    General Ham appears to have broken with that story and is taking no responsibility for the

    decision not to bail out the consulate and the Navy SEALS. There have been rumors that

    GENERAL HAM HAS BEEN FIRED OR FORCED OUT. There is no way to confirm them at this point untithey come from more reliable sources. Even major sites are running things based on intern

    forum rumors or speculation with nothing behind it. And thats not the way to go. Its the

    way to sabotage the investigation of this story which is to proceed from known information

    and tie it together with reliable reports.

    That said, Hams premature departure raises certain questions, as does his willingness to

    dissent from the official story. Panetta tried to pass the buck to the generals. General

    Demspey only lightly touched it. Ham seems to not want to touch it all. Since the decision

    was made by Panetta and possibly Obama, thats the right thing to do.

    We are done with the narrative that no forces were available or could have reached the sitein time. Generals Demspey and Ham are now both on record as saying that the forces were

    available, but did not get used. The fallback story is that there was a lack of intel, but there

    was actually plenty of intel from the consulate that had been there and even in declassifieddocuments provided assessments of the Islamist militias, from the two SEALS in the fight aother consulate personnel. And during a rescue operation, intel is always going to be limite

    The issue was almost certainly a refusal to come in, guns blazing, into Benghazi, a Muslim

    city, for fear of destabilizing Eastern Libya and upsetting Muslims with an American show of

    force. The decision was made to rely on the Muslim Brotherhoods Feb 17 Brigade to helpevacuate the area, even though Ansar Al-Sharia, the militia leading the attack, was a splint

    group of Feb 17 and serious questions remain about the complicity of Feb 17 personnel in t

    attack.

    Benghazigate is now a focus, but it should be remembered that there have been countlessBenghazigates in Afghanistan, where US forces were denied air and artillery support while

    under fire. That should be the real focus of this conversation. What happened in Benghazi i

    what has been going on in Afghanistan for some time. Its the outcome of the Obama

    Administrations CVE and Hearts and Minds program that puts Muslim sensibilities first and

    American lives last.

    U.S. intelligence officials this week turned over intelligence reports to Congress showingwhat officials at the CIA and other agencies knew and when. U.S. officials who have

    reviewed the material say it shows confusion during and in th e days follow ing t heattack .

    Members of Congress have complained that the White House and the intelligencecommunity stuck to the analysis that an angry mob started the attack long after it hadbecome more clear that it was an organized militant operation. ~AP/ October 26, 2012

    Stevens Reported 'Targeted and Discriminate' Attacks

    Before 9/11

    Reps. Darrell Issa (R-CA) and Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) have released State Dedocuments that show Ambassador Christopher Stevens clearly expressedconcerns about security months before his death.

    The documents, 166 pages in total, contain a cable signed by Stevens and dated Aug 8. In that cable,Stevens wrote of how Benghazi had teetered from "trepidation to euphoria and back" through a "series o

    violent incidents." And he took pains to point out that the incidents were not spontaneous outbursts, but"organized" attacks.

    Stevens put it this way: "What we have seen are not random crimes of opportunity, but rather targetedand discriminate attacks."

    Another cable that bore Stevens' signature was dated Sept 11 -- the very day on which he was later killeIn this cable, Stevens expressed his concern about "growing frustration" in the Benghazi area and"growing problems with security" around the consulate.

    Stevens explicitly mentioned the Libyan police and security forces that were guarding the U.S. consulateHe said those forces "were too weak" to keep the site secure.

    These cables and the concerns expressed in them were nothing new. In late June, following attacks earlthat month, Stevens had written that the attackers "seemed to be targeting the Christians supervising thmanagement of the consulate" and that "Islamic extremism appeared to be on the rise in eastern Libya.

    In other words, months before the Sept 11 attacks took place, spontaneous uprisings were ruled out. Thattack on Benghazi was "targeted and discriminate."

    Reporters whovisited on Oct. 26 to prepare a story for Dubai based Al Aan TV foundseveral ash-strewndocuments beneath rubble in the looted Tactical Operations Center. The two unsigned draft letters areboth dated Sept. 11 and express strong fears about the security situation at the compound on what wouturn out to be a tragic day. They also indicate that Stevens and his team had officially requested additiosecurity at the Benghazi compound for his visit -- and that they apparently did not feel it was beingprovided.

    One letter, written on Sept. 11 and addressed to Mohamed Obeidi, the head of the Libyan Ministry ofForeign Affairs' office in Benghazi, reads:

    "Finally, early this morning at 0643, September 11, 2012, one of our diligent guardsmade a troubling report. Near our main gate, a member of the police force was seen inthe upper level of a building across from our compound. It is reported that this personwas photographing the inside of the U.S. special mission and furthermore that thisperson was part of the police unit sent to protect the mission. The police car stationedwhere this event occurred was number 322."

    The account accords with a message written by Smith, the IT officer who was killed in the assault, on agaming forum on Sept. 11. "Assuming w e don't die tonight. We saw one of our police' that guathe compound t aking pict ures," he wrote hours before the assault.

    The State Department declined to comment directly on the documents, citing an ongoing investigation.

    Multiple warnings about security threats were contained in Ambassador Stevens ownwords in multiple cables sent to Washington, D.C., and were manifested by two priorbombings of the Benghazi compound and an assassination attempt on the Britishambassador, the congressmen wrote. For this administration to assume that terroristswere not involved in the 9/11 anniversary attack would have required a willingsuspension of disbelief.

    At the State Department briefing [on October 19th], spokeswoman Victoria Nuland declined tocomment on published reports alleging that an official working for the Central Intelligenceagency had informed the Obama administration on September 12 that the Benghazi murderswere an act of terrorism.

    Late last week, Jennifer Griffin ofFOX NEWS REPORTED that CIA operators

    caught in the attack in Benghazi requested military backup but weredenied by higher headquarters.

    If true, this would exhibit fatal inaction and negligence on the part of theadministration or the military's chain of command, or worse, some sort ocover-up.

    On Friday, President Obama was asked directly by Denver's KUSA-TV's Kyle Clarke whether our forceswere denied backup during the attack. The president dodged the first question. Clark followed up, "Werethey denied requests for help during the attack?"

    "Well, we are finding out exactly what happened," the president RESPONDED. "I can tell you, as I've saidover the last couple of months since this happened, the minute I found out what was happening, I gavethree very clear directives. Number one, make sure that we are securing our personnel and doingwhatever we need to."

    This is different from what the president said in his Rose Garden speech on September 12, when hementioned nothing about securing personnel the evening of the attack, or what heSAID to "The View" orUnivision in the weeks after the attack.

    We now know that President Obama met with Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and Vice President JoeBiden in the Oval Office at 5 p.m. ET on the night of the attack. We also know that t he FIRST E-MAIL

    Asked to explain the inaction on the part of the Pentagon, Panetta SAI D, "The basic principle is you don'tdeploy forces into harm's way without knowing what's going on, without having some real-timeinformation about what's taking place."

    Contrary t o Panett a's claim, we know w ith certainty t hat t here w as real-t im e informationcoming into Washington and the Pentagon during the attack. We are therefore left with two conflictingexplanation's for the administration's inaction -- either the president's directive to secure our personnelwasn't heeded, or he didn't exactly give such a directive.

    After all, as former Marine captain and former assistant secretary of defense, Bing West, has so wellchronicled, directives of such serious importance would be recorded and sent throughout the chain ofcommand.

    The administration insists that aid was not declined. "Neither the president nor anyone in the White Houdenied any requests for assistance in Benghazi," National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vietor toldYAHOO NEWS this past Saturday.

    The race for State House in the newly created District 111 has become aheated battle. Brian Strickland, the Republican candidate, has been hit witthousands of dollars of false and vicious attacks from Barack Obamas allie

    at the Democrat Party. They have accused him of things that are not onlyfalse, but they are legislative actions that Brian obviously could have had npart in.

    The attacks stem from the reality that Brians opponent and the Democratdo not have a plan for Henry County families, and their record has made l

    harder for our families. Their only option has been to lie and mislead.

    On the other hand, Brian Strickland would be a real asset to Henry County in the State House. Brian wouprovide us with the effective leadership that we need and deserve.

    Brian has a common-sense plan to make Henry County stronger. Being born and raised here, Brian wantHenry County to remain a place where kids grow up, graduate from college and return home to raise theown family.

    Obviously, Brian understands a big part of that is making sure that Henry County has good, high-payingjobs. He knows that with effective leadership, Henry County can become an economic hub of metro-Atlanta. In the House, Brian will work to reform our tax code and reduce taxes, eliminate burdensomegovernment regulations and improve our schools so we can become more competitive as a County as aState.

    Brian knows, like we all do, that Henry Countys future is at stake. We are at a crossroads. Without the rileadership, we will follow the same path as our neighbors in Clayton County. Brian will be an effective

    leader who will work with law enforcement to stop the influx of crime and tirelessly champion efforts toattract new businesses and high-paying jobs.

    While the Democrat Party and their candidate have launched vicious attacks, Brian has worked hard todeliver his positive plan for a stronger Henry County directly to the voters. Thats why momentum for Bris continuing to build.

    If you want an effective leader who will work to make Henry County stronger, the choice is clear. Vote BrStrickland November 6th.

    5 Reasons to Vote Yes on Charter Amendment

    1. Parents are the most aware of their child's needs and when they're not being met in the

    current environment.

    2. This amendment only reinstates what worked well in GA before the GA Supreme Court

    struck it down in 2011 - an alternate authorizer, outside of local boards, just like 32 otherstates have in place.

    3. GA's economic development depends on improving educational outcomes - start up

    charters have a proven ability to do that.

    4. Parents with means already have school choice, parents without do not. Let's offer optio

    that can break the cycle of generational poverty. Think Clayton County, Dougherty County.

    Would you let your child go to school there?

    5. The high drop out rate and highest in nation incarceration rate are highly related - just a

    small part of the cost to society when we fail to educate and graduate our students. 1 of 3

    students in GA public schools drop out.

    ~~~~~
    Too bad we cannot all see this issue from the same viewpoint. I, too, would love to have school choice,
    vouchers, charter schools, and educational savings accounts. But we do not. And I don't think we willunless we start somewhere.
    THE HUGE FALLACY that BetterGeorgia wants us to accept is that local parents and local boards makeindependent decisions about spending our tax dollars.
    Living on the mother's milk of federal and state funding, local boards adopt policies and createenvironments consistent with maintaining that cash flow. THAT IS NOT LOCAL CONTROL.
    Without Amendment 1 the local BoE can kill any application - and the state board will invariably uphold tdenial. All we get with this amendment is to overturn the lawsuits of 2010. The creation of the state
    commission, without concern that local boards will again file suit, allows an appeal process.
    Some folks say Locally elected "representatives of the people" - the school board - are SUPPOSED to hothe power.
    I n t rut h, the power, t he choice, the tax funding, the decisions MUST rest w it h parents for t hbenefit of t heir children. Parental Choice is the only real local cont rol.
    The Georgia Lottery
    I've worked most of my life in the private sector but I also worked for a city government, a countygovernment and a state government. What I've come up with after working in these government places"is that the city didn't have as much money to waste as the county didn't have as much money to waste
    the state".
    I would like to see the resumes of those who applied for the position of president and CEO of the GeorgLottery and were not accepted. As a common sense approach I would have picked someone with "Lotteexperience for this $300,000+ position.
    So, the Georgia Lottery has hired Debbie Dlugolenski Alford to be the new president and CEO of theGeorgia Lottery. She's is currently the chief financial officer and director of the Office of Planning andBudget for the state of Georgia. Since she served three years on the Georgia Lottery board of directors,
    Emm y Winning Former CNN Journalist, Amber Lyon Blows The Whist le
    The central issue is Media Controlled by The Obama Administration, and more specifically CNNas aVERIFIED tool for propaganda and disinformation.
    Within this Canadian video report you will find footage of a CNN story on Egypt and Mohammed AlZawahiri. It was produced by well-known CNN Journalist Nick Robertson. The entire video is excellent, bthe pertinent aspect is at the 1:30 mark.
    In the PREVI OUS THREAD I asked two central questions. The SECOND QUESTI ON was:
    Why would CNN [or CNNi] refuse to air the NI CK ROBERTSON REPORT with Muhammed Al Zawahiri (broth
    of Ayman Al Zawahiri) that clearly shows the Egyptian uprising was 100% in response to his call forprotests for release of the Blind sheik on 9-11.? Why would the most trusted name in news, hide thereport showing the truth, and instead allow the false narrative to be sold, by them, to the Americanelectorate?
    Amber Lyon provides the answer (s).
    CNN never aired the Nick Robertson report in Egypt because it completely contradicted the ObamaAdministration, and Hillary Clinton State Department, Egyptian assertions. In short, it proved they werelying BIG TIME. The refusal to air the real reasoning for the Egyptian Embassy assault was intentionalprotection of President Obama specifically orchestrated by the CNN News group. Specific, intentional,lying.
    Apparently they have a history of this no-one knew about. UNTI L NOW.
    She says she was ordered to report fake stories, delete unfriendly storiesadverse to the Obama administration (like the Nick Robertson report), andconstruct stories in specific manners while working for the left-wing network.
    CNN is paid by foreign and domestic Government agencies for specific content.
    Additionally CNN and CNN International are also paid by foreign governments to avoid stories that aredamaging, and construct narratives that show them in a better, albeit false, light.
    Amber Lyon is a three-time Emmy winning investigative journalist and photographer. She accuses CNN obeing fake news.
    Back in March 2011, CNN sent a four person team to Bahrain to cover the Arab Spring. Once there, thecrew was the subject of extreme intimidation amongst other things, but they were able to record somefantastic footage. As Glenn Greenwald of the UKs Guardian writes in his blockbuster arti:
    In the segment, Lyon interviewed activists as they explicitly described their torture at the hands ofgovernment forces, while family members recounted their relativesabrupt disappearances. She spoke w
    government officials justifying the imprisonment of activists. And the segment featured harrowing videofootage of regime forces shooting unarmed demonstrators, along with the mass arrests of peaceful
    protesters. In sum, the early 2011 CNN segment on Bahrain presented one of the starkest reports to datof the brutal repression embraced by the US-backed regime.
    Having just returned from Bahrain, Lyon says she saw first-hand that these regime claims were lies, ancouldnt believe CNN was making me putwhat I knew to be governm ent lies int o my report ing.
