NEWS LETTER TERM 5 2014 G reenacre Sports Partnership has once again hosted a very successful Primary Football League for all the primary schools within the partnership. 16 schools entered the football league this year and the standard of football being played was absolutely fantastic. Due to the number of schools entering the league this year, the teams were split into two groups, depending on their location in Medway. All schools played each other within their group and then had play off matches against the opposing group to enable final positions to be awarded. On Wednesday 21st May, Greenacre Sports Partnership hosted the Primary Football League Finals and 3rd / 4th playoff at Greenacre Academy. The afternoon saw Oaklands compete against Lordswood in the 3rd / 4th play-off and Balfour compete against St Michaels in the final. After two very close matches, the final scores were as follows: • Oaklands (1) v Lordswood (2) • Balfour (2) v St Michaels (2): Balfour win 3-2 after extra time. Congratulations to Balfour Juniors School for not only winning the Primary Football League for the academic year 2013 – 2014 but for also going all season unbeaten. Greenacre Sports Partnership would like to take this opportunity to thank all the primary staff who worked hard to ensure the Primary Football League ran so smoothly and was such a huge success. Running a football team is not easy and without the support from the schools and dedication, schools would not have had the chance to compete in this high standard of football which the schools from the Greenacre Sports Partnership have demonstrated. Following from the Primary Football League, we noted that there are a number of students who should be competing at the next level of the footballing ladder, playing for Medway. The Medway trials will be taking place in early September and the dates will be sent before the end of the academic year. Please ensure as a school the best players receive an invite letter. REMINdERSHeadteacher MeetingsGreenacre Sports Partnership will be meeting with each primary and secondary school to discuss each school’s requirements for the academic year 2014 – 2015. If you have not yet booked in a meeting please do so as soon as possible.

GSP Staff Celebration EventOn Thursday 19th June at 4.30pm, we will be hosting a ‘thank you’ event for all the staff from our primary and secondary schools who have worked really hard to deliver PE and school sport across their schools this academic year. We will supply the food, drink and a variety of activities!

Its a fun get together / team building session to celebrate what has been achieved this year. It will be held at Greenacre Academy and we would recommend wearing kit!

You are more than welcome to attend and can bring additional members of staff as you see fit, if they have helped you in the development of PE and school sport this year.

The more people attend, the better it will be, especially if the sun is shining as well!

If you could confirm your attendance by Friday 13th June 2014 it will then allow us to order in food and drink to accommodate everyone.
