Welcome back to the SummerTerm...the last one of this academic

year. I cant believe the year is going

    so quickly!

In this newsletter, you will see details

of the events that we have planned for

this term - I would be grateful if you

could add these to your calendars,

although we will remind you again

    nearer the time.

HEALTHY SNACKSI would be grateful if you can send in

    ahealthy snack for playtimes for

the children; we have noticed an

increase in the number of children

    eating crisps and chocolate at

morning playtime. We would like to

see as many children as possible

    eating fruit for their snack.

Alternatively, a cereal bar (no nuts,

please) or equivalent is acceptable. I

know that some children have been

known to raid their packed lunch

box at playtimes, often selecting the

    crisps, which is

    something we

    would like to

    stop. Can you

    please help us to

    make sure we

    encourage the

    children to eat

    healthily? Thank

    you!

This term, the whole school will

    be working on an Olympic

    theme...this will culminate in an

    Olympic-themed Sports Day on

    Thursday 28th June. Each class

will be divided up into five

    groups, each group representing

a different country. There will be

lots of chances to find out about

    these countries, to create and

    perform opening ceremonies

    and closing ceremonies as well

    as competing against each other

    in various activities throughout

the term. More details will be

    coming from class teachers in

    the coming weeks.

    The Olympic Torch will be

visiting Chester on the 28th and

    29th May.

    The Olympics

    SCHOOL UNIFORM

As we are now in the Summer Term, the

children may wear their summer uniform

(although, it is still acceptable to wear the

    winter uniform of white shirt/tie).

The girls may wear a red gingham dress and

the boys may wear a red gingham shirt. The

    dresses are widely available from

supermarkets as well as our two uniform

suppliers (Sports and Leisure, in Hoole and

    www.myschoolstyle.com). The boys shirts are

a little harder to get hold of; however, we can

now get them from the uniform supplier for

    ASHTON HAYES PRIMARY SCHOOL

    NEWS ISSUE 11 / SUMMER TERM 2012 / THURSDAY 19TH APRIL 2012

Duddon Primary School. Please access their website

by going to www.kidsbiz.co.ukthen clicking Shop by

School and Duddon St Peters School.

Uniform will be delivered to Duddon School free of

    charge.

Can I remind you that all uniform and clothing should

be clearly labelled. I highly recommend labels from

    www.easy2name.comThe stick-on labels remain stuck

to clothing labels even after several washes and they

stick really well to water bottles, even after several

times through the dishwasher! The iron-on transfers

are also great. The school receives a small amount of

commission on purchases if you choose Ashton

Hayes Primary CH3 when you check out

(search in the drop-down menu under A in

the fundrais ing group). Thank you.
