Adopt-A-Grandparent to Host Carnival

WAVERLY, Iowa- The Wartburg College student organization Adopt-A-Grandparent

will host it’s final event of the year with a celebration. The members of this organization

are teaming up with Bartels Lutheran Retirement Home in Waverly to host of day of play

and fun for the residents. A carnival-themed party will take place 6-7 p.m. on Thursday,

March 31 at Bartels Retirement Home.

Activities will include balloon animals, carnival games and an acrobat to entertain

guest. This is the first year the Adopt-A-Grandparent organization has helped with the

carnival, to say that they’re excited would be an understatement.

“I can’t wait to see the enjoyment that this event will bring all of the residents at

Bartels, and all of the Wartburg students who helped out with it. It should be a great

event for everyone involved,” said Ashley Lahti,  AAG vice president.

The Wartburg and Waverly communities are welcome to volunteer and take part

in the carnival with the residents. Waverly community members can contact Chelsea
