Lock cursors and waveform zoom state

Now if moving cursors and/or zooming the waveform in Ocean and Ocean QuickCheck, the zoom and cursors will stay in that state for next exposure. This allows quick analysis of repeated exposures, when a specific analysis is done. The zoom state and cursor positions are also stored for when saving data as well as for reports. New Excel connect mode A new connection mode to MS Excel have been implemented. This allows exporting data to Excel in real-time in a pre-defined format. The format is the same as used by the Raysafe Xi and X2, which allows to use same Excel template either using an RTI meter or a Raysafe meter. To enable this function – From Quick Check and Options, check the function Fixed format (Excel connect).

Also when working in Excel connect the minimized Ocean window has changed. The most important functions are available, and made touch friendly. See below.

Product Note

New k-factors for CTDI Following changes of k-factors for CTDI calculations have been done.

Added GE revolution (issue #8463) Changed "Optima CT660" to "Optima 660" The following models are equal:

Optima 580 = Light Speed RT GE Revolution EVO = GE Optima 660 GE Revolution GSI = GE Optima 520 = Light speed 16 GE Optima 540 = Light speed Pro 16

Improved how a lost communication is handled in Quick check In Quick Check a lost communication caused Ocean to hang. That is now resolved. Improved GUI when changing order of displays in Real-Time Displays In the Real-Time Display the order of displays can be customized. This has been available in previous versions too. Now it is better visualized in the drag and drop function. HVL limit rules - Tungsten targets in mammography HVL limits have been added for: "ACR Mammo W/Rh", ACR Mammo W/Ag" and "ACR Mammo W/Al". Example for W/Al shown below.

Improved template protection Some parts in Ocean that have not been affected by protection before, are now covered by the different protection levels that is avilable. There are no additional levels. Only a more stringent coverage. Allow Quick check to be used without a meter

PN_R16-2_Ocean.docx 2016-12-09

Product Note

Now when opening a saved Quick Check, the measurement will be shown “as a Quick Check”. In previous versions, a saved Quick Check was opened as a Real-Time Display. Now possible to save a Quick check favorite from within Quick check Under the Options menu the selection Save as Favourite… is now available.

Now possible to protect and hide Quick check favorites in the library For groups that uses Quick Check favourites and need a strict control of the use of those, a possibility to protect those is implemented. This function is available only for larger groups and requires support from RTI to access. Allow Quick Check favourites for the Connect license level Quick Check favourites is now available also for the Connect license level. In previous versions, the Professional level has been required. Calibration date in reports Ocean reports can now include date of last calibration of the meter that was used during test.

Database format This version of Ocean has the same database structure as last version of Ocean. Last change of database structure came with the Ocean 2014 release R15-2, 2015.12A. Any old database from previous versions is restructured when the new version of Ocean 2014 is started. This is an irreversible process and it is not possible to go back to an earlier version once the database has been restructured. For security reasons a backup file is created automatically and saved in the Ocean 2014 data folder. The file name is “DataBackupBeforeNewVersion.accdb”.

Cobia and Piranha firmware Piranha There is a new firmware for Piranha in this release, and consequently the lowest firmware that shall be used with this release of Ocean 2014 is 4.2B. Cobia To run the new version of Ocean 2014 existing Cobia shall be upgraded with a new firmware. Lowest Cobia system version that shall be used with this version of Ocean 2014 is 2016.12A.

Ocean 2014 – News in Release R15-2

Release information Release date 2015-12-22 Release name R15-2 Installer 2015.12C Ocean 2014 version 2015.12.22.198 EXE file version 1.0.2.18348 DLL version 2.6.0.9078

This is a new release of Ocean 2014 for Cobia and Black Piranha. This release of Ocean 2014 has been mainly dedicated to maintenance. Reported bugs have been fixed, and some new features have been added.

New Customer Values Below the most important news are described. Extended Meter settings in Quick Check The following settings have been added to the Meter Adjust page: Filtration, Beam correction factor, and Window. Quick Check now has all settings that are available in the QABrowser. Normalized Dose in Quick Check It is now possible to present Normalized dose in Quick Check. New fields on the Meter adjust page to specify SSD and SDD to get a normalized dose and dose rate value. Improved readability on tablets with high screen resolution Tablets have higher and higher resolution. Ocean 2014 objects appear small on these devices. The Font feature that allows user to increase font size has been improved and now increases size of more object than just text. Also one more size, Extra Large, has been added. Read more in the section Minimum screen resolution later in this document. New mammography calibrations See the Piranha Product Note, PN_R15-2_Piranha, for more information. New macros New macros have for Used detector, Detector s/n and Detector Calibration date. This information can now be included into the analysis text. Log scale for user-defined graphs User-defined graphs can now have x- and y-axis with log scale.

PN_R16-1.1+_Ocean.docx 2016-06-29

Product Note

Improved Bluetooth communication The Bluetooth communication has been further improved. A new protocol is used that eliminates the problems with Windows 10 that exists with earlier versions. The pairing process is also improved that gives more stability and speed. Effective time A measured parameter Effective time is added. Effective time is the time radiation is present during an exposure and all “dead-time” is excluded. “Dead-time” is the time when no radiation is present. Limit the amount of mammography calibrations shown The extensive support for mammography we have in Piranha gives a long list of mammography calibrations. Not everybody uses all of them. It is now possible, in Program Options, to hide mammography calibrations you don’t want to see when you are asked for a mammography calibration. You can also give your own name to the calibrations. This name is shown instead of the default name. In all places where this feature is used an optional “Show all” choice is available. Improved report print out Different sections of the report are now better “kept together”. “Not so good” page breaks are avoided.

Database format This version of Ocean has a new database structure.

Cobia and Piranha firmware Piranha There is no new firmware for Piranha in this release, and consequently the lowest firmware is 4.0A. Cobia To run the new version of Ocean 2014 existing Cobia units must be upgraded with a new firmware. Lowest Cobia system version that can be used with this version of Ocean 2014 is 2015.12A.

Bluetooth Pairing Bluetooth pairing is faster and more stable. Issues with Bluetooth pairing with Windows 10 have been resolved. The effect is that the Ocean 2014 starts up faster after first time the Piranha and Cobia have been connected with a particular Tablet or laptop. The new installer can also be used with Windows 10. Note that it may still take some time to pair the Piranha or Cobia with a new device the first time.

Minimum screen resolution Ocean 2014 is designed for a minimum screen resolution of 1280 x 800. If screen resolution is higher, objects in Ocean can look very small. There are different ways to increase visibility on the screen:

Increase font size in Ocean 2014. This will only affect texts in Ocean, not buttons and other objects.

PN_R16-1.1+_Ocean.docx 2016-06-29

Product Note

Change settings in Windows (increase size of text, apps and other items). This feature will increase size of all objects.

Increase font size You can change the Font size to increase the size of texts and ribbon bar in Ocean 2014. There are four different sizes to choose from; Small (default), Medium, Large and Extra Large. If you use Extra large font size be aware that some texts may be truncated. Increase object size in Windows You can increase everything that is shown on the screen by changing the Display settings in Windows (Windows 8 and 10). You can set the "size of texts and apps" between 100 % and 200 %. It is not recommended that you increase more than what gives an "effective" screen resolution lower than 1280 x 800. For example, if you have a screen resolution of 1980 x 1200 and you think that Ocean 2014 "looks small". It is then not recommended to go higher than 150% (1980/1.5=1320 and 1200/1.5=800). You can combine these two possibilities to maximize size of Ocean 2014 texts and buttons.

Resolved Problems Below is a list of the most important resolved problems, for a complete list please read the “Version History” document distributed with Ocean 2014 and RTI internal bug handling system.

PN_R16-1.1+_Ocean.docx 2016-06-29

Product Note

Known Limitations The table below describes limitations that have been observed and not been fixed in the release.

Description

Extra Large font size: in some places texts doesn’t fit into available space when “Extra Large” font size is used.

Slow data transfer of waveforms with Cobia.

It takes long time to recognize that an external detector is connected, especially if it has many calibrations.

If you Cancel “Save” when using Quick Check, Ocean returns to Quick Check but the wrong menu is shown. Leave Quick Check and go back to solve the problem.

Not possible to use longer time than 60 seconds when using Timed mode.

When using “Normalized dose” in Quick Check, the waveform graph is labeled “(norm)” but scale is showing non normalized dose.

When activating a row in a checklist, the analysis tab is shown instead of the question tab.

A test template may get the wrong title when used in a session (measurement) if you leave the “Title” field empty when you design tests.

Quick Check doesn’t support that you measure only with the internal mAs when you use Cobia.

Quick Check sometimes doesn’t react when the external dose probe is connected. If this happens; click on the “New Quick Check” button.
