Looking Ahead !!

- Information has already gone out on a Retreads trip in June. As a reminder, these trips will be communicated via face book and e-mail.

- Our Ice Cream Outings are about to start in May. Any suggestions on new locations need to be com-municated to Denny. - Don’t forget Mid-Atlantic Retreads Rally on 5/14. There may still be room at the host hotel, Bird-in-Hand Beautiful Amish countryside and great food.

Members,

We are still reeling from the recent passing of three members in the last few months. These members were known to many of us because of their personalities and the roles they played within the club. We will miss them. If you read the last newsletter and/or my e-mails, you know that Andi and I will be stepping down as your NJ State Reps. Although the response to find a new Director was slim, I was lucky enough to have had two extremely good prospects to consider. It is my pleasure to announce that R. Denny Blew has accepted the position of NJ Retreads State Rep. Denny has been a Retreads member for many years. His work and other duties as Director of the Cumberland County HOGs and Founding Director of the Cumberland County Riders took him away from the Retreads for a period of time. He has always liked the Retreads creed, which is people who like to ride and ride often. Denny believes the NJ Retreads have been doing it right for a long time. Having Fun !

I believe that Denny’s background and past experiences, and your continued support, will move our club forward. Officially, Denny will be taking over on April 1st. Naturally, he has already started to sift thru forms, reports, membership files and getting familiar with our computer programs. Recap

Cook’s Afternoon Out was a big hit. We had a full house of 32 Retreads attending. We had a couple of guests with Art Grantz , Regional Director and Dick Dombach, East Penna. member. It was a great meal with a lot of conversations which included a Sam Beloff talk about future rides for 2020 and the need for member input. (See Pictures Below) I received a very nice thank you letter from the Make-A-Wish Foundation. thanking us for our 2019 contribution. The club hasn’t decided on the 2020 charity yet.

A letter from our NJ State Representative, R. Denny Blew Greetings, Retreads! Our Director (New Jersey State Representative) for the last twelve years, Jim Wells has done a supreme job and will be spending time on a few physical problems that have been plaguing him for the past couple of years. Jim, we thank you for the great service you have done us, and we wish you well! Many of you already know me as a Wednesday regular and ride-leader. As of April 1st, I will be taking on the role of the State Representative for South Jersey Retreads. Having been an active Retreads member in the past, I bowed out for a period to help manage and eventually direct a Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.) club. Now having recommitted myself to the South Jersey Retreads, I’ve grown to fully appreciate this fine organization and I’ve got some big shoes to fill. In the meantime, if we don’t know one another, I plan on changing that. In the future, my wife, Joanie and I hope to get out to more Sunday rides and events. There is a beautiful simplicity to Retreading. We (the Retreads) are not into hierarchies , committees or meetings; we are about an abundance of great riding. As for motorcycling, it’s inspiring to see that very few motorcycle organizations exceed our membership in collective riding experience, so this is a place where one can grow those skills. And as for the company, well, you’ll encounter nothing but smiles, sincere greetings and warm handshakes in the South Jersey Retreads. Along with our Assistant Director, Sam Beloff, I thank you for your support and participation, and welcome your continued input. Consider leading a ride, sharing a trip idea, pitching in with events-planning or encouraging a friend to join our ranks so that the South Jersey Retreads continues its tradition of riding fun and friendship.
