Principal’s Message
Term 2 Ends The term has passed by very quickly. We have had a very busy term and I would like to thank everyone for their hard work. Students have completed the first semester and after reading reports, I was very impressed with the effort and progress of our students. Staff have worked tirelessly with their classes to engage them in learning programs to build skills and knowledge. There are many parents, also who have assisted with various programs throughout the school. Without your assistance, we would be unable to run many of our activities. Have a well-deserved, safe and restful holiday break. Students will return to school on Tuesday 21st July, as Monday is a pupil free day.
Student Reports The reports for students were sent home on Wednesday, 2nd July. If parents require a second copy please let us the office staff know. It is important that students and parents sit down together and talk about their progress. Also, create goals that include areas where your child can work to improve. If parents would like to clarify anything in the report with a teacher, please make an appointment. If parents would like a learning area grade report, please collect the appropriate year level report from the office. This indicates the number of A, B C, D, E grades given for each year level in all learning areas.
STUDENTS RETURN TO SCHOOL ON TUESDAY, 21st July.

Hand washing – Message from School Nurse
Washing hands is the easiest way to protect
ourselves from contagious diseases, like colds,
influenza and gastroenteritis. Hands should be
washed before and after eating or preparing food,
after going to the toilet and after nose blowing.
When teaching your child to wash their hands;
*Use clean water and soap, making sure they cover
their hands and wrists.
* Use a brush to clean under nails if they’re dirty too
* Dry their hands with something clean (like a paper
towel)
Alcohol based sanitisers are useful when soap and
water is not available. Use a half a teaspoon of the
product and encourage your child to rub their hands
together until they’re dry. If you can see dirt on
their hands, it is better to use soap and water.

Immunisation
Maintaining a high level of immunisation within our
community is a key element to ensuring that we
have very low incidence of vaccine preventable
communicable diseases in Australia.
Vaccine preventable diseases can have serious
health consequences for school aged children and
others in the community. You can help protect your
child by ensuring their vaccinations are up-to-date.
You can make an appointment with your GP or visit
a (free) immunisation clinic. There is an
immunisation clinic is at 16 Rheola Street West Perth

Thank you to the Samson Community for your wonderful donations. Mrs Spencer organised an excursion to Food bank on the 2nd July with Mr Joel Candy and the year 6 students, to deliver our donations. It was fantastic to hear that the school donated 102 Kilos worth of food, which equates to 133 meals. These students were able to see how FoodBank operates and all enjoyed an ice cream at the end.
