Newman Central Catholic High School

Last week we shared a short video of photos of the staff to let the students know how much we missed them. That evening I received a heartfelt email from one of our Sophomore students, Jace Murphy. He included a photo of himself holding a sign that read "I miss you all & I can't wait to see you again real soon! Keep praying & stay healthy. #Bluemachine #Gocomets" This email inspired me to ask the student body to email me a photo of them remote-learning or holding a sign sending a message. Just a photo. I know the staff would love to see their faces! Students who would like to send in a photo must know that it will be posted on Social Media and our website.

Please send photos to tvorhees@newmancchs.org before Saturday, April 11th. If there are enough responses they will be compiled into a slide show.

Hello everyone! My mom just showed me a slideshow on Face-book of Newman staff members holding pieces of paper that say "I miss you all" and stuff like that and I see some of them got pictures with their pets, which inspired me to get this picture with my cat, Tiggies. I have no social media so I had no choice but to email it to all of you. Keep praying, stay safe, stay healthy, and I can't wait to see you all again real soon. I have been praying that the coronavirus will end real soon and that we'll be able to go back to school next week and that school won't have too many more cancellations or no more cancellations. Newman is My Home Away From Home

Newman is my “home away from home”. Me, the staff, & my friends from there are a “family.” My pals from Newman are sort of like siblings to me. I’ve had lots of fun at Newman this year & last year, too much fun to want a summer break in fact. New-man is a special school indeed! I get more extra time to finish assignments, I take resource. Newman is probably the only school in the world that has a resource class & a block sched-ule. Attending Newman helped me develop a closer relationship with God, Newman is my 1st private school. In middle school, I hated life & I lost hope for a better life. Last year, I learned that as long as there’s God, there’s still hope. I now love life again, starting freshman year. I’ve been through lots of tough times in middle school. I got bullied once in a while in grade school & middle school & I’ve never been bullied at Newman. Yes! I get along with the kids from there like peanut butter & jelly. I almost attended Rock Falls last year. I’m glad I attend Newman in-stead. It would’ve made a big difference if I attended Rock Falls. I’m in scholastic bowl & I’m a manager for the football & baseball teams. If I attended RFHS, I would’ve possibly not joined scholastic bowl or managed football or baseball. Before I attended Newman, I didn’t know what scholastic bowl was. I’d also have less extra time to finish assignments at school & I’d probably still get bullied once in a while & I would’ve never met lots of people who I’m proud to have in my life.
