WELCOME I believe that new babies are one of the greatest joys in life and should be celebrated. As new parents, you will want to remember their sleepy eyes, squishy cheeks, and delicate skin, Custom newborn photography can help you to cherish these precious memories for a lifetime.

We buy lots of cute outfits and toys for our babies that they outgrow in weeks or sometimes days. Beautiful images of your baby, however, will only become more valuable as time passes. You will cherish those captured moments long after those tiny onesies are tucked away in the attic.the attic.
YOUR NEWBORN SESSION Newborn sessions with Michelle Sprouse Photography are designed to be safe and comfortable forboth you and your baby. You may choose to schedule your newborn session in my natural light-filled home studio or in the comfort of your own home. This minimizes your baby’s exposure to the bustle and germs of the larger chain portrait studios. I believe in letting your newborn baby set the pace of the session. You;ll have plenty of time to feed and soothe your baby as we prepare him or her for those adorable sleepy poses. Most newborn sessions last 2-3 hours, but I schedule 4 hours for newborn session so that you don;t need to feel rushed or anxious. I

In your home or mine, I will create a soothing enviornment for your baby. So comfortable, in fact, even the parents of my newborns sometimes find themselves taking a nap! Your newborn session will be a time for you to relax and enjoy your adorably new baby.
PLANNING FOR YOUR NEWBORN SESSIONTiming Sleepy newborns make for beautiful photographs. Newborns are at their sleepiest 6-10 days after birth. Please call me to schedule your session as soon as you come home from the hospital. I like to complete newborn sessions before your baby is 14 days old. Your newborn will set the pace of our session. I plan several hours for each newborn session to allow for plenty of feeding, making sure your baby is comfy, and cleaning up any oopsies.
Location Most new parents find it easiest to have me come to their home for a newborn session. In your home, I’ll look for the room that gets the brightest natural light to set-up in. I’ll need enough space to set-up a small background stand and posing bean bag. To prepare your home for the newborn session, please have the room very warm. 80 degrees is a good temperature for a happy, sleepy baby. If you’d prefer, you can come to my home for your newborn session. I have a small studio set-up that gets wonderful natural light most of the day that we can use.
What to Wear Newborns look overwhelmed by diapers and outfits. To really capture that newborn look you’ll want to remember forever, I prefer to capture babies without clothes and diapers. I’ll use simple wraps and posing to keep it modest. I’ll also bring headbands and hats we can choose from to add color to the images. For images with mom and dad, softly colored solid tops look best. Prints, patterns, and bright colors will draw too much attention away from your precious little bundle. White and black are traditional choices. I also love warm pastel shades, especially on mom.
Just Relax Babies are calmest and happiest when their parents are calm and happy. Don’t stress out about having the house perfectly clean or if your baby will cry or make a mess. I’m excited for the opportunity to photograph this special time in your family’s life and will work to hard to keep your baby safe and happy during the session. Your job is to relax and enjoy your baby.
Ordering SessionOrdering Session At your photo session, we’ll schedule an ordering session. Don’t worry--you won’t have to take baby out to select your images. I’ll come back to you about a week after your session. We’ll start with a slideshow of your session and then you’ll have a chance to rate and select your favorites. After your ordering session, images will be posted on an online gallery for your friends and family to view for 30 days.view for 30 days.

Reserve Your SessionReserve Your Session Please reserve your due date before your baby is born. We’ll choose a specific date and time soon after your baby arrives. The session fee and signed portrait agreement is required to reserve your date.
