• I would classify this book as a romantic comedy/drama.

• Lexi Smart is the main characterin the novel and she is the most interesting.

• Lexi has amnesia and can’t remember three years of her life. These years contain information on how she evolved into the person she is in the present year. Lexi only remembers her old self. She was lively, outgoing and bubbly. I feel a butterfly would suit this personality trait well because they are full of life and free.

Free Spirited

Fun!• In the beginning, Lexi is really

fun and friendly. She starts the book out at a club with her friends. She is stood up by her boyfriend and is trying to hail a cab to go home. Her friends are still outside singing and having a good time and she tries very hard to not have fun with them. She actually slips and falls, hitting her head.

Tacky• Lexi’s style is sort of crazy.

Some might even say tacky. She lives in an apartment with lights everywhere and fuzzy pink pillows. Her fashion sense is also in the same boat. She loves her shiny, sparkly mini skirts with even shinier and more sparkly tops.

Innocent• Lexi is a fun, lively woman

whom doesn’t want any trouble. She is a great friend and tries hard to be a good girlfriend. She later finds out that her father was in financial trouble and nobody knew until his funeral. Her sister is always in trouble with the law, making Lexi the ‘good daughter’.

Uptight• Lexi is in a car accident, which

causes her amnesia. It wasn’t her falling and hitting her head that made her lose her memory. She discovers that she is missing the last three years of her life. Within that time she finds out she is married and is the head of her department in the flooring store. The Lexi that she doesn’t remember was a workaholic and tightly wound.

Boring

• The new Lexi has a full time scheduled life and doesn’t leave anytime for fun. She works all the time and I don’t think she knows how to have fun. She’s boring, just like math. Math is useful but I lose focus often and do not like it.

Materialistic• The only things that

mattered to Lexi were the objects in her home and workplace. She had top of the line appliances, clothing and décor. She seemed like nothing else mattered unless she looked good to the public. A pile of money seems to symbolize materialistic traits quite well.

Fake• The new Lexi doesn’t think for

herself. She actually does nothing for herself. She has a maid that cleans up after her, cooks for her and might as well think for her. She has a stylist that picks out her clothing, so she doesn’t have to do that for herself either. She makes herself seem like she is being herself but it is pretty obvious that she is being someone else so that others like her.
