16TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME The second reading for the Liturgy this weekend speaks of Christ
who is our peace. The peace to which Paul refers is that peace we
now have with God through Christ since our separation from God
has been healed by Christ’s death and resurrection. Rooted as we
now are in God’s love and peace, we can be peace for others by our
lives and actions. This peace is manifested most fully when we
show respect to others, even our enemies. With God’s grace and
love, we can, through our thoughts, words and actions show only
good will and respect to all thus spreading peace to our broken
world. How can you be a peacemaker this week?
to es nuestra paz.
ientos, palabras y acciones, mostrar sólo buena voluntad y respeto

GOSPEL MEDITATION In today’s Gospel Jesus urges the disciples to “come away by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.” We all need spiritual refreshment from time to time. How long has it been since you’ve been on a retreat? Why not make plans to attend one in the coming months?

John Paul II

Pablo II
