BreediNg guaraNteeSBulls – In the unlikely event of infertility, the vendor guarantees that (without expenses, interest, costs and damages) if the bull proves to be totally infertile or totally incapable of natural service, provided it is not caused by an injury or disease contracted since leaving the sale, to either replace with an animal of comparable value or credit to the full purchase price will be given at the next sale or on a private sale animal upon return of the affected bull. If the bull does not possess a reasonable fertility, although not totally infertile, any claim shall be considered on its merits by the vendor and his veterinarian. Any complaint must be lodged with a relevant veterinary certificate within 6 months of the sale direct to the vendor.

the Purchase of Star BankWe were fortunate enough to be able to purchase this world renowned herd, in its entirety last year.

Star Bank is synonymous with champion Speckle Park cattle and outstanding breeding cows and bulls throughout the Speckle Park world. Star Bank was one of the original Speckle Park herds in Canada, and home of many of the breeds greats including, Lacerta 68L King George, Star Bank 64L, 11H, 68G just to mention a few.

Fortune favoured us again in having two great people, in our good friends Jason and Sara Goodfellow, “Notta Ranch”, running the Star Bank herd now ‘Six Star Canada‘ on their ranch at Neilburg, Saskatchewan, Canada.

Jason handles the day to day management of the herd as well as preparing the show and sale teams. This includes taking the Six Star and his own teams of cattle to the Canadian Western Agribition and Steers to the Calgary Stampede. We could not do without his and Sara’s help and their time devoted to this work.

We have a close working relationship with the Goodfellows where Jason also sets up and coordinates the large flushing programmes with Dr Don Miller, “Miller Ranching”, our Canadian Embryo Technician. Jason delivers and picks up donors from from Dr Millers’ Cremona based ranch in Alberta some 8 hours away from home.

We travel twice a year to Canada to oversee joinings and purchase new sires and ET donors. The bulls are used for both AI collection to export all over the world and the live bulls to be used within our herds in Canada.

The Canadian division of Speckle Park Cattle Co is run as Six Star Speckle Park Incorporated and all progeny are registered and prefixed Six Star with the Canadian association.

We feel the purchase of the Star Bank herd, has and will in the future, enable us to sustain and develop new bloodlines from the best individuals in the breed in two continents. We hope this will help keep the Speckle Park breed moving forward in the right direction.

ForeWordWelcome all, to what is not only a historic day in the Speckle Park breed but also for australian beef producers. this is the largest sale of Speckle Park genetics ever in the world and, of course, the first in australia.

From the very outset of the breed being introduced into Australia, Speckle Park Cattle Co (SPCC) has bred and promoted these outstanding cattle to be just what they are: A no fuss, easy care, easy handling and very much commercially based beef breed.

Their famous built in superior meat quality and tenderness added to their high marbling and carcass traits, have made them one of most talked about and admired breeds to ever come to our country.

Our show ring outings only go to reiterate our motto, ‘We don’t breed show cattle we show breeding cattle”. As the majority of people have only read about Speckle Parks, we have undertaken to exhibit at shows and field days, to take the cattle to the people.

In the future, carcass competitions will play an integral role in the breed’s promotion.

Since we started this endeavour 4 years ago, the breed has gone from strength to strength world wide, with unprecedented demand for Speckle Park genetics throughout Canada, USA, New Zealand, Ireland and Britain, especially over the past 12 months. Over the past 4 years, there has been even more impressive wins in carcass, taste and tenderness competitions.

As I sit and write this foreword, the first crossbred Speckle Park weaners ever sold here have just topped the Wodonga fat market at 20 cents above the market high for the Thomas family. Congratulations to Jonathan and Carmen Thomas for their foresight in buying SP semen to enhance their commercial programme as well as now starting a Speckle Park Stud operation.

Speckle Parks are impressing even the most hardened “set in their ways” commercial breeders, many who are now “trying a little of those speckled ones” in their herds and to their and our delight, with great results.

To say the level of Australian Beef industry’s interest and the amount of breeder acceptance is overwhelming, is an understatement!

We are very proud, as are our co-vendors, to offer this draft of cattle to you today. They represent the créme de la créme in the Speckle Park breed.

We have spent countless hours, lots of dollars, thousands of kilometres in searching and procuring from Canada the ”Right Genetics”. The genetics represented today are the best the Speckle Park World has to offer.
