The wind is rising, and the air is wild with leaves, we have had our summer evenings, now for October eves!" - Humbert Wolfe – Welcome to October! We have a month of fun and some spooky opportunities for you! Be sure to stop by for our garage sale (that is without the garage), on October 14 and 15, 2016. It is a FUND-raising event for the center so we can get some memory enhancing software for the Linwood Senior Center, and use the money we raise for various events throughout the year. We also will be taking donations the week of the 10th, so if you have things you would be willing to donate, we would appreciate them. All sales with go toward Linwood needs and activities. We also need volunteers for the garage sale. If you have a moment to share, we would appreciate it! As grandmother Fern always said, “Many hands make light work”! Also, don’t forget we will start the Walk With Ease Program on October 3, so look for more information on the following page. As a reminder we need to dress up so we can have our HALLOWEEN PARTY on the 31st! BOOOO to you! Cherise & the Linwood Team

New Exercise Program Coming

We will be starting our “Walk With Ease”program in October, as the weather coolsdown. This is a program that is great for people that have inflammation in their joints.It is a gentle walking program. There are many benefits to coloring, stressrelief is just one of the many. Please plan onjoining us on Wednesdays to color from 1-2pm.Debra La Shon Boone is the volunteer coordinating the class. Living Well Support Group

Living Well Chronic Support Group willmeet on October 24 from 3-4pm. Nurse VickiAudley will present the program entitled“Mindful Eating.” Please join us!

Garage Sale

Attention: Weare planning agarage sale inOctober, andwould love tohave you donate your goods and items, so wecan raise some $. Keep us in mind for anydonations that you have that we can use toraise some funds for the center. In-kind lettersfor donations will be given. We will start assembling items the week of October 10. Allitems donated that are not sold will be givento a local charity.

Book Donations

We are getting books donated to the LW li-brary from some of our generous memberswho happen to be authors and illustrators. Authors Sharon Brown and StarlaCriser and illustrator Sharon Revell have beenbusy. They have created and published severalbooks, so if you are thinking Christmas gifts forthe grandchildren, you may want to pick up afew for gifts! Thank you, authors and illustrator, for the wonderful contribution.

Craft Time With Barbara

October 12, from 2-4pm will be making a“Draft Dodger” to help with those winterdrafts. Cost is $5 and our own Rose MaryPhelps will teach the class. Call to RSVP263-3703, and measure the door or windowyou need the “dodger” for. Please bringmany of the plastic bags, so we can stuff thedodgers!

PS - If you are interested in the CraftCommittee, please give us a call. We can useyour input. Barbara Palmer will lead thiscommittee. This committee will help withfuture fundraising ideas and ways we canstimulate our brains by creating new and exciting items.
