Sharing the Gospel in the Middle East
Emad and Almess Botros were appointed by CBM in January 2015 to serve at the Arab Baptist Theological Seminary (ABTS) in Lebanon, where they first met and studied. For the next three months, Almess will be helping with the ABTS Online Certificate of Ministry Program as a tutor. Please pray for Almess as she reads and grades weekly work and provides students with a mean-ingful feedback. Emad is currently writing his dis-sertation and developing an article for publication to be delivered at the Middle East Consultation in June. Please pray for Emad’s writing projects as his deadlines approach. Last month, Emad began mentoring a group of about 15 Syrian leaders. Please pray for the mentoring time to be fruitful and for the spiritual formation of the leaders. Last-ly, please pray for the Botros’ children, Timothy and Nathaniel, that they grow up not just knowing the Lord as Savior, but also continue to serve Him the rest of their lives.
Huttons in Bolivia
Tim and Kallie Hutton are working with CBM part-ners, the Bolivian Baptist Union (UBB) and its development arm, OBADES, to build and support effective programs and ministries in Bolivia. They are working to get churches involved with strate-gic community development projects as well as expanding the capacity of the Baptist Seminary in Cochabamba to train effective leaders. The Hut-tons are also working to improve accessibility to theological resources and other vital information that can be challenging to obtain. Pray for the National Bolivian Baptist convention taking place this week, that it will be a time that reinforces uni-ty and clarifies ministry goals. Also pray for Tim and Kallie who been asked to participate in the convention by facilitating a workshop on disciple-ship. Pray that they would be blessed with wis-dom and strength as they head into a particularly busy ministry season.
Ministry in East Asia
Although churches in many parts of Asia face much restrictions and persecution, they are pas-sionate about the gospel. CBM has partners serv-ing in the areas of church transformation and the planting of new congregations in East Asia. This week, staff will be facilitating a four-day ministry workshop for university students. Please pray that the students will arrive safely, engage in the workshop, and that the Holy Spirit would work mightily in all the hearts of all those involved.
