INSTALLATION OF 6 sun pipes DEPLOSUN 400 with walk trough FLAT·TOP domes to light the radiology installations in San Juan de Dios Hospital, Esplugues de Llobregat, Barcelona. UNDER THE BIG SQUARE which is used as the main entrance to the San Juan de Dios Hospital, are located the new radiology rooms and installations. Those underground spaces only have the possibility to be daylight trough the roof. Because the square is used by vehicles and pedestrians the solution had to send daylighting into the space without interfering with its circulation uses. The answer was DEPLOSUN·400 sun pipes combined with FLAT·TOP domes levelled with the pavement. Sun pipes light the radiology corridor located under the square. People walking on the square generates a light and shadow game inside, that contributes to connect inside space with the outside through daylighting. DOMES were designed to hold vehicles and pedestrians on them by a 13.5 mm. laminated and tempered glass. THE PIPES light a wide circulation area under the square and connect it to the outside by daylighting. July 2005 SUN PIPES

UNDER THE BIG SQUARE which is used as the main entrance to the San Juan de Dios Hospital, are located the new radiology rooms and installations. Those underground spaces only have the possibility to be daylight trough the roof.
