When our company celebrated 10 years of business...our newsletter headline was “Carrell Homes is acting like a 10 Year Old!” While we’re a little more mature now (and Bruce has A LOT more gray hair) we are

still excited about this “birthday” and celebrating this milestone.

Carrell Group Collects New Product Ideas at International Builders Show, 2012

In February 2012, we attended the International Builders Show in Orlando, Florida to find new product ideas for our clients; MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!! We are most excited with new product offerings in a few key areas: 1) GE GeoSpring 50 Gallon Water Heater that offers great energy savings, takes up less space, and has many “bells and whistles” settings features. We are going to use this as a standard in our homes requiring a 50 Gallon tank. 2) We gleaned many “Outdoor Living” ideas, from unique firepits and fireplaces, to disappearing doors, to high-end exterior appliances; we are armed with ideas to optimize Outdoor Living/Entertainment for our clients. 3) FIREPLACES. For any client seeking to enhance the focal point fireplace in their home, we can show you the gamut of possibilities- “flatscreen” fireplaces, Circular “laser” flame fireplaces, and more. 4) LUXURY items. We found a supplier that fabricates all of a home’s features out of TRUE rare stones (items like Limestone Staircases). We saw great multi-person saunas and wine room options, which were not cost prohibitive. And, we met two Italian gentleman that hand craft all of their interior trim moldings and interior doors in rural Italy. Though they didn’t speak English, their product spoke for itself. We were blown away by the authenticity of their presentation. We look forward to sharing our new products and ideas with all of our new clients!

Recent Price Per HEATED Sf Quotes:

Though we generally warn clients against depending on “Price Per HEATED SF” as the primary decision factor when comparing builders,

we understand that it is a number that many focus on. If you are comparing “Price per SF” between builders, PLEASE contact us so that we can help you compare “apples to apples.” This measuring stick can often be VERY misleading, because many builders present their numbers in “unique” ways. Our goal at Carrell is to be open and honest from the beginning. We do not mislead or leave out critical portions of the building process to our clients. Nor do we “skimp” on areas that we know clients care about (Landscaping and Lighting are examples). Any builder can manipulate their price-per-foot numbers to sound low, but few builders can please clients from start to finish for 25 years. We would be happy to help you compare any Proposals, so that you can ensure you are getting the best “bang for your buck.” When we’ve done this for clients in the past, we’ve always been able to match or beat the “apples to apples” pricing. Our recent prices per sf in some communities have been as low as $99 per HEATED sf. Other recently quoted homes range from$115-$125 per heated sf range in Carolina Forest, $135-$175 per heated sf in Brunswick County golf communities, and slightly under $150 up to $250 per heated sf in the Grande Dunes (requires tile roofs and paver driveways). As you can see, “prices per sf” cover a wide range of possibilities, from under $100 to over $250. Please let us quote your individual plan for you and help you accomplish your budget AND quality goals.

3-D Virtual Tours of YOUR NEXT HOME over Video Conference Call:

Many of our clients planning to build in the Carolinas do not live in the area. Often, they’re only here for a week or two, and they find it stressful to make final planning decisions under such pressure. We’ve attempted to help ease this pressure by offering 3-D Virtual Tours using Video Conference Calls with our prospective clients. When a client feels that their floor plan is “close,” but needs some reassurance, they find this tool extremely helpful. We’ve used it 3 times and already begun building for two of those clients! Carrell Group Opens New Model Home in Grande Dunes:

The “San Pietro” is Carrell Group’s newest addition to our Grande Dunes Model Home Collection. As the first builder in Grande Dunes, we have built many Grande Dunes model homes over the last 10+ years, and all have been quite popular with prospective clients. So far, nearly every client visiting the new San Pietro model has either asked, “How much to build this on my lot?” or stated, “I want to add this ‘San Pietro’ feature in my home.” The San Pietro is a one-level, 4032 heated sf home, FORTIFIED construction, with retractable corner slider doors, a luxurious “Birdcage” enclosed outdoor living space, a VERY POPULAR “Club Room” for the MEN, and a beautiful Interior Package by Grande Designs. CARRELL Breaks Ground on Two New Homes in Raleigh/Durham!

We are excited to be starting two new homes, numbers 3 and 4 for us, in the Raleigh/Durham area. One home is situated in the Mediterranean style community, Maida Vale, in Chapel Hill, and the other is in a rural area of

Durham overlooking 10 beautiful acres of farmland.

Amy Bishop has been a Carrell Group team member for over six years. She has an extensive accounting back-ground in construction and develop-ment related businesses… and was re-cently promoted to become our Con-troller. Carrell Hires High-End Trim Carpenter/Artist to Staff:

Whether it’s a small, budget conscious home, or a Grand Estate, Carrell is known for its finish quality being the best around. Carrell Group recently hired the area’s most well known trim carpenter, Ted Haring. Ted has been doing custom trim carpentry for over 25 years. He worked for Builders First Source as their primary field carpen-

After years of subcontracting Ted’s skills to complement our homes, Car-rell Group is honored to have him on our staff.
