Materials List:Students will need the following items for this class:
1) 2 GB or higher removable media such as a flash drive to back up files.
2) Optional: optical mouse. We will be using laptop computers to create graphic
design. Some people have difficulty using the touch pad on laptops.
Things you need to know:All students will have the opportunity to apply for a class job. Each student will fill
out a job application after reading which jobs are available. Student who do not fill
out an application will have a job selected for them. Everyone will have a job.
1) First things first:
a) All students will be assigned a computer number. When entering the
room, retrieve your computer from the computer cart and start
working on assigned tasks unless instructed to wait.
b) Students will be assigned a seat. Students should be in their assigned
seat before the bell rings.
2) During Class:
a) The computers must be used for school activities only. At no time is
it permissible to play games on the computer (including educational
games) or access unauthorized websites.
b) Students must save all work in their computer folder AND removable
media. Save frequently to prevent data lose and back-up your
files. You are responsible for your files. Take Charge!
c) Assignments that are ready to be turned and graded in will be
uploaded on to your personal webpage (more about this later).
3) End of Class:
a) All computers must be logged out placed in the proper numbered slot
and plugged in.
GradingStudent grades will be determined by two factors:
* Assignments (75%) completed art projects.
* Academics (25%) quizzes, tests and open responses.
Remember: You are in charge of your work. You are responsible for turning
work in on time, making sure your name is on your work and following all the
instructions. BE PROACTIVE. BEGIN WITH THE END IN MIND. PUT FIRST
THINGS FIRST.
