We will be returning to school in time for lunch. Students may bring a snack to eat at the crocodile farm and should also ensure that they have their water bottles and hats. They may bring a small bag to carry these items around the farm in. Most of the farm is sheltered but students may also bring an umbrella if they wish to protect themselves from sun or rain between the different sections. Students should wear their school uniform as usual. Students may bring 1000 kyat to pay for a bowl of fish to feed the crocodiles but as there are no souvenir shops on site we ask that they do not bring any extra money. Due to the dangerous nature of crocodiles, the Year 5 teaching team have conducted a thorough review of the grounds and developed a robust risk assessment to ensure the safety of all the students. The Thaketa Crocodile Farm has hosted a number of successful school trips in the past. It should prove to be an excellent, educational trip and the students are very excited about it! Wednesday 3rd May, 2017

Dear Parents,

As part of our ‘Living things and their habitats’ topic in science, Year 5 will be visiting the Thaketa Crocodile Farm on Tuesday 9th May, 2017. This will allow the students to observe the environment that crocodiles live in and investigate their specialized features. The trip will include an educational talk from one of the farm staff and an opportunity to feed the crocodiles.

The bus to the farm will leave the Bahan campus promptly at 8:30am so please ensure that your child is in school by 8:00am so that we can complete a register and leave on time.

Yours Sincerely

Year 5 Teachers
